As a small business owner, it’s incredibly easy to feel like you should always be working—answering inquiries, editing galleries, updating the website, posting, planning, creating… there is always something else that could be done.

But rest is part of the work, too.

I’m getting ready to take some much-needed vacation time, and I’m reminding myself that stepping away doesn’t mean I’m any less dedicated to my business. It means I’m giving myself room to breathe, experience something new, and come back creatively recharged.
