We are out here in the Chesapeake Bay and saw this ship that doesn’t look quite right.
Turns out it’s an old WWII Liberty Ship that the Navy uses for target practice sometimes!

Lots of F-16/18 flybys here at the mouth of The Potomac.

A lot of work paddling through a mangrove tunnel. But great to have a beach all to ourselves.

From St Pete we were on to Gulfport where we picked up a Mooring for a few days. Some last goodbyes to friends in Pinellas County. Gulfport is a cool town and one of our favorite places. It is very cruiser friendly with a dinghy dock that is right downtown. Awesome waterfront with a beach and lots of great restaurants and a good brewery. I can see why there are so many permanent liveaboards anchored out there.

At the Harborage Marina in St Pete, we finally put the name on the boat. And completed the renaming ceremony with a little bubbly poured overboard for Poseidon and the various gods who control the winds. 😎

We moved to the St Pete municipal marina for a few days with some bad weather coming in, provisioning runs and projects to accomplish. It’s a good spot, right downtown and close to a great park and the Dali museum.
Ditching landlife is harder than it seems and of course everything on a boat always seems to take twice the time. We’ll get there…

Something decided to chew threw the anchor light and VHF wires to gain access to the bast of our mast. Then it dragged a chicken wing or pigeon in there for a feast! I managed to get the bone out, with forceps (like surgery). But there was no slack at all in the light wire so someone had to go up the mast. The crew got us sorted out.

One of the things I love about boating is the challenges that it presents. Just today I’ve been a Rigger, an IT guy, Marie Kondo, and a pack mule. I have not been a diesel mechanic or a plumber today. It’s been a good day.
Pretty photo of full moon setting over Clearwater Beach this morning.
