Happy Release Week to my dear friend and client Alexandra Rusch - Author! Summer of Sara, her fun, quirky, beachy romance is now available as e-book and in Kindle Unlimited and pre-orders for the paperback are coming soon.

This book has been 15 years in the making and the author and I began discussing work on it several years ago! I am so jazzed to see a book that I watched grow from a few chapters to a full manuscript come to life!

A huge congratulations to you, Alexandra. I hope readers are as blown away by Summer of Sara as I was.

Free-spirited Sara Maloney has a peaceful getaway for one planned at the Jersey shore, compliments of her former boss. Yet her summer of crafting, sun, and reflection takes an unexpected turn when the clumsy yet sassy artist comes face-to-face (or is it butt-to-face?) with Erik Hanson, the scrump...

, need a cure for the common info dump?

As an indie editor, I often encounter info dumping in the fiction manuscripts I work on. This article has some great tips for cutting back on it in your story.

In writing a novel, the creator usually has vast store of information that needs to be shared throughout the telling: plot-related research, original or historical world-building, character backsto…

, are you making use of your local library to market your book? This article shows you some ways. I always share whatever book marketing advice I can with my editing clients.

Public libraries love supporting their local authors. If you haven’t spent any time at your local library, that is your first step.

Remove the lyrics, authors. If you're hoping to include someone else's song lyrics in your book, do yourself a favor and don't do it.
No, it is NOT covered under "fair use" because your book is a commercial endeavor. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

If you're considering including song lyrics in one of your books, it's vital to understand how to do it properly or it may cost you big.

Looking forward to attending the virtual Neurodivergent Publishing Conference for the next couple of days! I work with several indie authors to help them build better stories, including those with and ADHD.

I love straightening out sentences that could benefit from clarity and refinement and making suggestions about how authors can strengthen their writing.

If you're attending, DM me in the conference space and let's chat about your next project! I’m currently booking for mid-April and beyond.
