I checked for shops in the greater Montgomery Metroplex which do custom embroidery and selected Tigertown Embroidery And Screenprinting in Auburn. For embroidering my call sign characters (text only) into polo shirts which I supplied they charged $13.00 per shirt. If you wanted a custom design such as a microphone or radio tower they charge a one-time setup fee for the initial digital image which can be used for as many garments as you want without an additional setup charge. Turnaround for orders is seven to ten business days. My small order was completed in less than a week. Tigertown Embroidery also sells shirts, jackets and hats which you can have customized. I have a preferred clothing brand so I supplied my own shirts.

I use Ham Alert which is an app that notifies you when a call sign you follow reports being on the air. Last night I saw that Tim Davis - GraymanPOTA (NW9F) was transmitting on 7.280 SSB so I tuned to that frequency and conditions were such that I heard Tim. I made a call and he responded from 600 miles away. My end-fed antenna is still indoors and strung across the tops of several doors so I felt quite fortunate in making that contact. I had met Tim at the 2025 Huntsville Hamfest so I sent him an e-mail with photos to update him on the areas of Ham Radio I have been working to which he replied later in the evening.

Tim specializes in POTA (Parks On The Air) and has a
YouTube channel, Sunday Mornings From The Park, every week at 8am central where he recaps the week and makes live contacts on whichever frequencies allow for greatest reception. This morning Tim mentioned our Saturday night contact which you can see starting at the 5:00 minute mark in the video.

It's time for the Worldwide Checkin, Brandmeister DMR Talk Group 91 which occurs each Saturday at 11am central (1600UTC) and runs for a bit over three hours. Checkins start in Asia and work their way west with the US being last. When it's North America's turn they call for checkins by region code. My weekly checkin is near the end as I have a `9` in my call sign.

This week I'll be testing the YSF2DMR mode on the Yaesu 991A.
