Good news if you like to travel…contact me to set up your next trip!!
✈️ Important travel heads up from your friends at Keys to the Castle Travel ✈️
Starting February 1, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin charging a $45 fee for travelers who show up to the airport without an acceptable form of ID. That fee covers TSA’s ConfirmID identity verification process and is valid for a 10-day travel window.
What does that mean in real life?
If you don’t have a REAL ID–compliant driver’s license or state ID, a passport, or a passport card, you can still fly, but you should expect:
• Extra time at security
• Additional screening
• A $45 fee per 10-day travel period
If your trip is longer than 10 days and you’re flying home without a compliant ID, you’ll be paying that fee again.
The good news? You still have time. Most states allow you to book an ID appointment online, which means you can skip the chaos and handle this before your next trip. Future you will be very grateful.
TSA is also working on an option to pay the fee online ahead of time, but details have not been announced yet.
Moral of the story: check your wallet now, not at the airport. If you have questions or want help making sure you’re travel-ready, we’ve got you.
