Friends of the Sacred Heart Ashram

Friends of the Sacred Heart Ashram 501c3 Helena based non-profit that helps support the Divyahrudaya Ashram, a homeless refuge in Kerala, India. We have two main areas of focus.

Founded in 2005, Friends of the Sacred Heart Ashram, a Helena based 501c3, strives to improve the quality of life and opportunity of choice at the Divyahrudaya Ashram. This Ashram is a refuge, a home to over 385 abandoned souls in Kerala, India. Through fundraising events, awareness, and volunteer vacations, we seek to connect people in a profound way. First, we administer a child sponsorship prog

ram that supports educatina/vocational opportunities for the Ashram children and young aduls. This sponsorship program helps provide tuition, books, clothing, and travel for the children and young adults of the ashram. Second, we fund building and infrastructure projects that help to make the orphanage a more productive, decent, and comfortable place to live. To date we have contributed to the construction of a kitchen and dining hall facility that was greatly improved the day-to-day operations of the ashram. We are constantly adding new and exciting ways for people to connect with this desperate--yet inspiring--community in India. Shout out to Liz Harter for her continuous dedication to Friends of the Sacred Heart Ashram!
