Monarchs are making a pit stop in Henderson, Kentucky, on their incredible journey to Mexico for the winter.

John James Audubon State Park , takes you out into the wild to catch, tag and release them, helping scientists track their journey along the way!

Explore forest and wetland trails at John James Audubon State Park, see one of the world’s best collections of Audubon artifacts, including a complete set of The Birds of America, then head to Sloughs WMA for birding decks, wetlands and kayak access.

When you’re road tripping, it’s easy to pull off for the same fast food you can get anywhere. But sometimes, the best part of the trip are the mom and pop stops along the way. Henderson County is full of little country stores and cafés worth taking the backroads for.

10 days, 13 volunteers, 5,000 stickers, 650 postcards and 8 boxes of destination guides later… Henderson had a TIME at the Kentucky State Fair!

Huge thanks to the folks at Rhythm River Distillery, Henderson County Public Library, Henderson Economic Development, Henderson KY Chamber of Commerce, L&N Bed and Breakfast Ltd, Chuck and Donna Stinnett, and Tara Hunter for volunteering their time and being Henderson ambassadors! Another great example of Henderson showing up and working together!
