Paris for art and café time? Put Vienna on the list for museums, coffeehouses, and a different cultural perspective.

The Swiss Alps for mountain scenery and walking? Consider South Tyrol, with the Dolomites and mountain huts serving regional food.

Egypt for ancient history? Jordan offers another story to explore at Petra, the Nabataean city carved into rock.

Costa Rica for rainforest and wildlife? Panama has the cloud forests and the sloths, plus two oceans, the islands of Bocas del Toro, and a capital city worth a night or two.

Kyoto for temples and geisha districts? Kanazawa has both, plus samurai houses, one of Japan's three great gardens, and some of the best seafood in the country, minus the crowds.

East Africa for the big-game safari? Botswana takes it on the water, with the Okavango Delta, mokoro canoes, and the smallest camps on the continent.

Napa for w**e country? Mendoza puts Malbec at the foot of the Andes, and the Okanagan offers British Columbia's lake-country w**eries.

Which London hotel do I book for first-timers? More often than not, this one.

The Kensington is four white Victorian townhouses on Queen's Gate in South Kensington, which puts Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Science Museum all within a few minutes on foot.

It's the flagship of the Doyle Collection, an Irish family-owned group, and the family touch is everywhere. The afternoon tea is themed on London landmarks and arrives on a stand shaped like the London Eye. Kids love it. So do I.

Worth considering if your London list includes museums, a good cocktail, and time to enjoy the hotel itself. Send me your must-dos, and I'll take it from there.

One person wants golf. One wants the beach. Someone else has spotted the climbing wall.

A family hotel should give everyone something to argue for, and this one does.

Aurora Anguilla covers 300 acres across Rendezvous Bay and Merrywing Bay, making it the largest resort on an island known for tiny ones. On the kids’ side, a water park with slides and a lazy river, 18-hole mini golf, that climbing wall, a teen center, a kids club, pickleball and tennis clinics, bonfires with s’mores, and movie nights. Rendezvous Bay is one of the calmest, longest beaches on the island, which matters when small swimmers are involved.

On the adult side, the only golf course on Anguilla (a Greg Norman design), a full spa, and six restaurants, including the island’s only steakhouse and a dinner served inside the resort’s own hydroponic farm.

Three signs it's time to work with a travel advisor:

1. You have 27 tabs open and less clarity than when you started. Endless reviews contradict each other. I've been to these places and can tell you in one call what actually fits.

Big news for train lovers. England and Wales finally have their first luxury sleeper train, and it was worth the wait.

The Britannic Explorer, Belmond's newest train, departs London on three-night journeys through Cornwall, Wales, or the Lake District, with just 18 suites on board.

On board you'll find a botanical bar in the observation car and, the part nobody expects, a wellness suite offering treatments while the countryside rolls past. Step off the train for coastal hikes, wild swims in the Lakes, and private gallery dinners.

The dining is reason enough to book. Menus come from Simon Rogan, the chef behind three-Michelin-star L'Enclume.

Advisor tip: the routes are scheduled back-to-back, so you can chain Cornwall into Wales for one week covering two very different Britains. Cabins are limited, so let's talk timing.

Trend alert. Glowcations are one of the most requested trips of the year, and the requests keep coming for 2027.

So what is one? A glowcation is a trip built around skin, rest, and wellness rituals, with the goal of coming home visibly better than when you left. Less sightseeing marathon, more treatments, thermal waters, deep sleep, and good food doing their quiet work.

The destinations doing it best right now include South Korea, for K-beauty facials and bathhouse culture. Thailand, for herbal therapies and some of the finest massage traditions anywhere. And Europe, from Swiss longevity clinics to Italian thermal springs and Greek island wellness retreats.

Croatia keeps landing on client wish lists, and honestly, this footage explains it better than I can.

More than a thousand islands along the Adriatic. Medieval walled towns like Dubrovnik and Korčula. Waterfalls stacked through the national parks, and an entire peninsula, Istria, devoted to truffles and w**e. My favorite way to do it all is by sea, on a crewed yacht for the week, dropping anchor wherever looks best at lunchtime.

Advisor tip: June and September are the smart months, with warm swimming, open tables, and a fraction of the August crowds.

Egypt has been on bucket lists for about 4,000 years, and it has never been a better trip than right now.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is finally open in full, with Tutankhamun's complete collection displayed together for the first time in history.
