🌟 Business of the Week: The Farmer's Daughters Bakery & Market 🌟

This week's Business of the Week is The Farmer's Daughters Bakery & Market - a family-owned bakery and market operated by sisters Emma and Sarah, daughters of the late local farmer M.T. Lane and their mother Yvonne. Born and raised right here in the area, Emma and Sarah are proud to call this community home and serve the people around them.

What makes The Farmer's Daughters special is the family tradition behind every bite. Emma has been decorating specialty cookies for nearly 30 years, while Sarah grew up cooking in the kitchen with a lifelong passion for baking. After Emma retired, the sisters started the bakery part-time, and once Sarah retired too, they opened full-time, with their mother Yvonne lending a hand. Built on their faith, family, love of cooking, and desire to serve their community, every dish is made with the same care and traditions they grew up with.

From homemade sweet and savory Southern foods to baked goods, desserts, and lunch favorites, there's something for everyone. Customer favorites include chicken salad, sweet potato country ham biscuits, sausage balls, coconut cake, pecan pie, meatloaf, chicken pot pie, and their in-house cooked BBQ served with their TFD BBQ sauce. And beyond the food, they also have a gift shop and offer catering for baby and bridal showers, birthdays, holidays, staff luncheons, and all kinds of special occasions.

🌟Business of the Week: Manzer's Nursery 🌟

This week's Business of the Week is Manzer's Nursery — a husband-and-wife spot in Winfall that's been growing since April 2022!

If you haven't been out yet, you're missing a place where green thumbs and first-timers alike will find something to love. They've got houseplants, succulents, shrubs, mums, and even big trees — the kind most places just don't carry. No matter what you're after, there's always something to catch your eye.

What makes Manzer's special is the story behind it. After 25 years of teaching agriculture, the Manzers retired and decided to start their own business in the field they love. That passion shows in everything they do. They also work with local 4-H groups, giving classes to help others learn about agriculture and plants, and they offer landscaping design for folks who want a little help making their space shine.

They're open every spring and fall, and come fall they've got pumpkins sourced from local farmers and businesses — perfect for decorating. And here's a nice touch: if you have containers or pots that need filling, just bring them to Mrs. Roberta, one of the owners, and she'll help you fill them!
