🚨🌀 HURRICANE LOWELL UPDATE: HONOLULU UPGRADED TO TROPICAL STORM WARNING 🌀🚨
The situation continues to evolve across Hawaii. The Tropical Storm Watch for Honolulu/Oahu has now been upgraded to a Tropical Storm Warning, while Kauai County remains under a Hurricane Warning.
🔴 KAUAI & NIIHAU: HURRICANE WARNING
Hurricane-force winds are expected somewhere within the warned area. Current forecasts indicate peak winds of 60–80 MPH with gusts up to 95 MPH for Kauai.
🟡 HONOLULU/OAHU: TROPICAL STORM WARNING
Tropical storm-force winds are now expected somewhere within the warned area within the next 36 hours. The latest local forecast calls for 20–30 MPH winds with gusts up to 35 MPH, with tropical storm-force winds remaining possible.

• Maximum sustained winds: 115 MPH
• Maximum gusts: 150 MPH
• Minimum pressure: 950 mb
• Moving NNE at 10 MPH
📍 IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT THE TRACK: The line and forecast cone show the projected path of the CENTER/EYE of the hurricane, not the size of the hurricane itself. Strong winds, heavy rain, dangerous surf and other impacts can extend well outside that track. The eye does not have to cross an island for that island to experience dangerous conditions.
🚢 CRUISE TRAVEL: With warnings now in effect for portions of Hawaii, cruise passengers should be prepared for port cancellations, itinerary changes, delays and other adjustments. Cruise lines will keep ships away from dangerous conditions even when that means changing an itinerary.
