👀 WALLY WATCH: JANUARY 25 SIGHTING?
Saturday’s snowstorm turned Lake Wallenpaupack into a world of white. Snow falling sideways. Fog rolling across the frozen lake. Shorelines disappearing into silence.
And in that silence… two early-morning walkers say they saw something.
Near the fog line, a dark, low shape moved slowly across the ice. At first, they thought it was drifting debris. Then it paused. Shifted. And slipped back into the mist.
“With the snow and fog, you couldn’t clearly make out details,” one walker said. “But it wasn’t a person. And it wasn’t an animal we recognize.”
Locals know the legend.
Wally — the mischievous lake guardian.
Half man, half beast. Serpentine body. Amphibian skin. Quick hind legs that let him dash from water to woods. Known to investigate leftover pizza at campsites… and rumored to have a serious weakness for soft-serve ice cream.
A snowstorm is exactly the kind of weather Wally loves.
Low visibility. Quiet shores. Perfect cover.
So we have to ask…
Could it have been Wally?
If you were near the lake during the storm and saw anything unusual — shadows in the fog, strange tracks, movement on the ice — share your story below. 👇
And next time you’re out enjoying a stop on the Wallenpaupack Beverage Trail, keep an eye on the water…
Because Wally just might be watching you too.
