Families in the Park Update

Due to the impending weather, this Thursday’s Families in the Park concert featuring Dancehall Days is CANCELLED.

We’re disappointed to miss our chance to keep summer going with one more great night of music, but safety comes first.

Thank you for understanding, and we hope to see you at the park next summer

Due to high wildfire danger, the following fire prevention restrictions take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

🚫🔥 Help us prevent forest fires:

• Camping and parking are closed in the Hood River County Forest between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. daily, except at Kingsley Campground, Tucker Park, and Toll Bridge Park.

• All gates providing access to the county forest are closed, including Post Canyon, Riordan Hill, Upper Binns Hill, and Gilhouley.

• Combustion engine motorized vehicles are prohibited on trails and gated county forest roads.

• All campfires are prohibited.
✅ Portable stoves and fire pits using liquefied or bottled fuel are allowed in clear areas free of flammable vegetation, if users have either 1 shovel and 1 gallon of water or one 2 ½-pound fire extinguisher.

The county will announce when these restrictions are no longer in effect.

**REMINDER: OVERNIGHT BRIDGE CLOSURES—UPDATED TIME**
At the request of the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Authority, the scheduled overnight closure time has changed. The Hood River–White Salmon Bridge will now close from 12:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. during the following windows:
August 17–19, with the final closure ending at 5:00 a.m. August 20
August 26–27, with the final closure ending at 5:00 a.m. August 28
August 31–September 3, with the final closure ending at 5:00 a.m. September 4
September 8–10, with the final closure ending at 5:00 a.m. September 11
The closures are needed to support geotechnical exploration near the Washington shoreline for the Bridge Replacement Project. Some scheduled closures may not be needed if the work is completed early. Updates will be provided as they become available.
Travelers should plan ahead and use an alternate route during the closure hours.
