Some houses have a deck. Ours has a front-row seat. Here's our ideal fall evening out here, and it starts two minutes down the road. Head to Jessie Creek Winery (**erynj) for a slow flight and the famous "w**e spiral," pick up a bottle of whatever won you over, then bring it back to the house and pour it out around the big dining table while dinner comes together. No rush, no crowds this time of year, just good w**e, good people, and the bay going quiet outside the window. Some vacation rentals ask you to squeeze in. This one asks the whole family to spread out. Our main living space is bright and open, with a big sectional that somehow always has room for one more, coastal art on the walls, and windows that pull the bay light right in. It's where the board games come out, where the little ones crash after a beach day, and where somebody inevitably falls asleep mid-movie. Three generations of the Rufe family have been coming to Reeds Beach and Cooks Beach. The grandparents fell for this stretch of the Delaware Bay first, the kids grew up wading the shallows, counting horseshoe crabs and chasing sunsets along this shore, and now the little ones are doing the very same thing. A couple of years ago we found a house of our own right here on Reeds Beach, and Bayview Oasis is how we share it with guests: a four-minute walk to the water, the grill going at dusk, and sunsets that pull everyone outside to look.
