Mobility challenges don't show up on a park map.

Every ride has its own rules. Some let you stay in your wheelchair or scooter, some require a transfer, and some you simply can't do. Rentals are first-come, first-served, so even a quick stroller or ECV can eat into your morning before your day really starts. And not every resort is built the same — some put you steps from the bus stop, others leave you with a long walk you didn't plan for.

Finding any of this out in the moment is the worst time to find it out. You're already tired, already short on options, and the ride that mattered most might be the one you miss.

I know which rides need a transfer and which don't, I get rentals booked ahead so equipment is waiting when you arrive, and I match your resort, transportation, and itinerary pace to what your group actually needs — before you ever set foot in a park.

Isle of Berk is the most fleshed-out land at Epic Universe, and it's the one with the most to do. Three rides, a live show, a Toothless meet and greet, and food worth planning around.

A few things that surprise first-timers:

↳ The roaming Vikings take this land to another level. They're not out all the time, but if you catch them, stop and interact.

↳ You don't need to be a fan of the movies. It's vibrant, fun, and detailed enough that you'll enjoy it either way.

↳ The Untrainable Dragon show is the one I'd tell you not to skip. Both times I saw it, Toothless wasn't flying, and it was still a great show with incredible puppets. Hiccup's Wing Gliders is a fun ride, and Dragon Racer's Rally and Fyre Drill round out the rest.

↳ The food earns its spot. My favorite is the PB&J mac and cheese cone, and the specialty mead at Mead Hall was a standout.

My hot take? I love this land, but the layout feels crowded fast and it's easy to get turned around. Give yourself time to wander.

My tip? If meeting Toothless is on your list, check that he's out meeting guests that day, and use your early entry time for it.

When our team went in May, we rode everything together and caught the show. Then every one of us met Toothless and walked away in awe of getting to meet a dragon.

🏰 Best Walt Disney World Resorts for Neurodivergent Travelers

Choosing the right resort can make or break a trip when sensory overload, unpredictability, or crowds are a challenge. Disney buses often mean long waits in hot, crowded lines. Then you board a bus that’s packed shoulder to shoulder, loud, and hard to escape until you arrive. Here are the resorts that give you better options:

🚝 Monorail Resorts: Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian
The monorail runs frequently and is predictable, with more room to spread out than a packed bus. It takes you straight to Magic Kingdom, and you can connect to EPCOT by monorail at the Ticket and Transportation Center. The Contemporary is even a short walk to Magic Kingdom, so you can take a midday break without relying on transportation at all.

🚡 Skyliner Resorts: Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Art of Animation
The gondolas usually move continuously, so there’s very little waiting. You also get your own cabin, often just your party, which gives you a quiet space between parks. It connects to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

⚜️ Port Orleans – French Quarter
This resort is one of the smallest on property, with a compact layout, quieter grounds, and shorter walks everywhere. It’s a great choice if large, busy resorts feel overwhelming. Bonus: there’s a relaxing boat ride to Disney Springs.

Our tip: Double check for any refurbishments that may impact your hotel stay and have a backup plan for transportation (such as rideshare or Minnie Van if the complimentary transportation is still overwhelming).

✨💍 One of my favorite Disney memories EVER! 💍✨

Some memories are just extra magical, and this one will forever hold a special place in my heart! ❤️🌺

Getting married at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii was truly a dream come true! 🌴🌊 From the beautiful Hawaiian scenery to celebrating our love in such a magical place, it was a day we will never forget. 🥹💖

And of course, we had a very special guest appearance by the Big Cheese himself, Mickey Mouse, and the fabulous Minnie Mouse! 🐭❤️🐭 Because what's a Disney wedding without a little extra pixie dust from our favorite couple?! ✨🏰

This is why Disney will always be more than just a vacation to me. It's where dreams come true, memories are made, and some of life's most beautiful moments happen. 💫

First trip to Aulani. Not their first trip with Emma. 🌺

This family of six is heading to Hawaii in February — and they came back to Emma because they already know how she works.

The Disney Believe hasn't set sail yet, and we're already talking about her.

She's the fourth Wish-class ship and the ninth in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Like her sisters, she has her own identity. Hers is "promise and possibilities," built around the stories of characters who believe in themselves: Encanto, Frozen, Moana, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid.

What we know so far:

↳ Her Grand Hall is Moana-themed, with a bronze statue of Moana holding her oar at the center. The stern is inspired by Toy Story.

↳ Encanto is getting its first-ever live stage production, and it will debut aboard the Believe.

↳ She sails from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale starting December 18, 2027, with 4- and 5-night Bahamas and Caribbean sailings. That's a shorter option for families who can't step away for a full week.

↳ Wish-class ships share a hull design, but each one feels different once you step inside. If the Treasure is any indication, expect a ship with her own personality.

Grinchmas is the most underrated Christmas event in Orlando, and most people planning a holiday trip don't even know it's included.

Seuss Landing turns into Who-ville. The Grinch himself holds court. The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular is a full live stage show with a real cast and a live orchestra, and it's covered by regular park admission. No separate event ticket, no hard-ticket night, no leaving the park and coming back.

Holidays at Universal Orlando run November 14 through January 3 this year.

Two things we tell clients before they go.

The Universal Holiday Tour is the upgrade worth looking at if your group includes little kids. You get the Grinch and Max meet and greet, Santa, and reserved seating for both the Who-liday Spectacular and the Macy's parade. Reserved seating is the real value there. Standing in a parade spot for an hour with a four-year-old is how a good day ends badly. One catch people miss: the tour requires park-to-park admission, because it moves you between both parks. If you booked single-park tickets you can't add it.

Second, the Whos of Who-ville are interactive performers, not photo-op characters. They will talk to your kids, in character, for as long as your kids want to talk. Budget actual time for Seuss Landing instead of walking through it.
