Can confirm for today, it is long waits already at 4 AM!
Make sure you are getting to the airport with PLENTY of time to spare in these TSA checkpoint lines. Even if you have TSA PRECHECK, expect a longer than normal line!
⚠️Only 2 TSA checkpoints are open at IAH (terminal A & terminal E)

United airlines is offering refunds even on Basic Economy Non-Refundable tickets at this time. ⚠️EVEN IF YOUR FLIGHT IS NOT CANCELED OR IMPACTED DIRECTLY.
Other airlines will likely follow suit- but do not expect the same from discount airlines..

United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby said the refund offer was available to any travelers who did not want to fly amidst newly announced restrictions.

Make sure you are keeping an eye on Flight Cuts scheduled to begin Friday 11/7.
40 airports will be impacted by this.
They are reducing flights by 10% to help cope with lack of staff due to government shutdown.
⚠️Houston Bush and Hobby are affected!
Keep a close eye on your flights, check in as normal, & follow any prompts given by the airline.
Also note that call times will be much higher than normal for customer service.

If your flight is not affected, you will definitely still be affected by long TSA security checkpoint lines at the airport.
People are missing their flights because of 3+ hour wait times. TSA pre-check is helping, but still not a guarantee.You will make your flight.
For this, I recommend getting to the airport earlier than the normal '2 hour prior'. Much earlier.

‼️ It would be better to make it through TSA and sit/wait for your flight than to not make it through TSA and miss your flight!🥴
