tty sure I was excited enough for all of us, but seeing their faces lit up and continuing to hear them talk about the “pixie dust” moments they experienced made my Disney love grow exponentially. Being immersed in the character themed rooms at Art of Animation was a favorite for my family. I am also a huge fan of the Beach Club Resort. You just can’t beat that location! My boys and myself are big thrill seekers and rank Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, and Tower of Terror among our favorites. My daughter is not quite as adventurous but with so many attractions of different levels there is still so much to her to join in on, her favorite being the character experiences. I am also a big foodie and count researching Disney dining and snacks among my favorite things to do! 🏖️Disney Cruise Vacay ~ Day 4🏖️

Today was our second port of the cruise—and we were back at Disney’s Castaway Cay! 🌴

The last time we visited, our excursion was canceled because of the weather, so we decided this trip deserved a redo! And let me tell you…we definitely made up for it!

We booked the Extreme Getaway Package, which included swimming with stingrays, snorkeling, tube rentals, and bike rentals. BUT—and this is important—you absolutely do not need an excursion to have an amazing day at Castaway Cay. There are so many activities, beautiful beaches, food, and spaces included with your Disney cruise that you could easily spend the entire day exploring on your own.

We started our day with Swimming with Stingrays.

We headed out to a floating platform where the instructors taught us about the stingrays and gave us different foods to feed them as they swam through the rainbow-shaped platform. Then came the really fun part—we were able to snorkel throughout the enclosure with them!

And there were SO. MANY. STINGRAYS. It was absolutely incredible seeing them glide through the water all around us.

After that, we grabbed fresh snorkel gear and headed to the designated snorkeling area. Castaway Cay has an underwater snorkeling trail with sunken treasures and other fun things to discover, along with plenty of colorful fish. And apparently we were feeling extra adventurous because we even spotted a barracuda! 🐟

By this point, we had definitely worked up an appetite, so we headed over to Cookies Too BBQ for lunch. One of my favorite things about a Disney cruise is that you can step off the ship, spend the day on a gorgeous private island, grab lunch, drinks, and snacks—and it’s all included with your cruise fare. 🙌🏼

After lunch, it was time to slow things down. We grabbed some lounge chairs, drinks, and tubes and spent the afternoon floating and relaxing on the beach.

And honestly? That is one of the best things about Castaway Cay. You can pack your day with activities, or you can do absolutely nothing except sit in the sand with a drink in your hand. There’s no wrong way to spend the day.

Castaway Cay is one of those ports where the hardest part is deciding whether you want to explore it all or just relax and enjoy paradise.

And the fun didn’t end when we left the island! 🏴‍☠️ Tonight was Pirate Night on the Disney Wish, which meant pirate-themed entertainment, plenty of swashbuckling fun, and, of course…FIREWORKS AT SEA! There’s just something extra magical about watching fireworks light up the sky over the ocean. It was the perfect way to end an already incredible day at Castaway Cay!

And after today, I’d say our Castaway Cay redo was a SUCCESS!

🏝️Disney Cruise Vacay ~ Day 3🏝️

For our first port of the cruise, we arrived in Nassau, Bahamas! 🇧🇸

We booked a shore excursion through Disney, and I decided to go WAY outside my comfort zone and book the Blue Lagoon Swimming with Sharks excursion. Anyone who knows me knows that sharks are one of my biggest fears. Yes, I know they’re nurse sharks and generally very docile… but let’s be honest—IT’S STILL A SHARK.

After meeting our group in the designated area on the ship, we were escorted to a double-decker pontoon boat that took us out to Blue Lagoon Island. Once we arrived, we had about an hour before our shark encounter, so we enjoyed the included lunch and grabbed a drink on the beach while we waited.

Then it was time. 😳🦈

We headed over with our group to the shark encounter area, where we were given all of our gear and instructions. First, the trainer brought a shark over and let us pet it. Then came the part I wasn’t sure I’d actually do… holding the sharks!

They took photos of us together and individually before we put on our snorkel gear and got to explore the entire encounter area. There were 7–8 nurse sharks swimming around, along with a stingray and all kinds of fish. I honestly can’t believe I did it, and it was such an incredible experience!

After a little more beach time, we headed back to the ship to get ready for the evening.

Tonight’s show was The Little Mermaid, and I continue to be amazed by the Broadway-level entertainment Disney is able to bring to a cruise ship. Absolutely fantastic!

Then it was off to Arendelle for our rotational dinner. Several Frozen characters, along with musicians, performed on the center stage throughout dinner. It’s definitely a louder dining experience, so some of the performances were a little difficult to hear, but the atmosphere was still so much fun and beautifully done.

We ended the night with a Villains Game Show, which was the perfect way to wrap up another fun-filled day.

Tomorrow, we’re off to our next port!

🚢 Disney Cruise Vacay ~ Day 2 🚢

Today was Embarkation Day!

We received an email with all the details for our Disney Port Transportation, including where and when to meet. Disney took care of our luggage for us, loading it onto a separate truck that would take it directly to the port and eventually onto the ship. One less thing for us to worry about!

We boarded nice, comfortable buses with overhead storage and even cartoons playing on the screens, making the hour-long ride to Port Canaveral fly by. Once we arrived, the check-in and boarding process was incredibly easy, and before we knew it, we were officially aboard the Disney Wish!

Of course, our first order of business was finding LUNCH! 😂 We headed up to the pool deck and checked out the many options at Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods. Pizza, BBQ, tacos, burgers and more…there was definitely something for everyone!

After lunch, we spent some time exploring the ship and checking out all of the incredible spaces, activities and Disney touches throughout. Our rooms were ready by 1:30, and our luggage arrived shortly after. The room was comfortable, and I have to say, the dual bathrooms are a HUGE convenience, especially when sharing a room with teenage kids! 🙌

Then it was back to the pool deck for the Sail Away Party, where we celebrated the start of our cruise with some of our favorite Disney pals! 🥳

After a little more exploring, it was time to get ready for our first rotational dining experience at World of Marvel. And honestly…you can’t ask for a better way to end your first night than with a visit from Spider-Man! 🕷️

☀️Disney Cruise Vacay ~ Day 1☀️

As I recommend to all of my clients, we kicked off our cruise vacation by arriving a day early and enjoying a little pre-cruise stay! 🚢

Since we’re sailing with Disney and plan to take advantage of Disney’s Port Transportation, we decided to stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside in one of their beautiful Royal Rooms.

We also took advantage of Disney’s summer promotion, which included FREE water park admission on our check-in day! So naturally, we headed over to Typhoon Lagoon to take on that infamous wave pool. 🌊

We did have a brief lightning delay (because…Florida summer 😂), but once we were back in the water, we had a blast trying out a few slides and battling those MONSTROUS waves!

And because no Disney day is complete without a great meal, we ended the night at one of my absolute favorite Disney Springs restaurants, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. And as usual, it did not disappoint. I mean…fried chicken AND doughnuts? 🍗🍩 You really can’t go wrong!

A relaxing pre-cruise day, some Disney fun, and a delicious dinner? I’d say we’re off to a pretty great start!

First stop? A pre-cruise stay in a Royal Guest Room at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside before setting sail on the beautiful Disney Wish!

We'll be kicking off the vacation with a splash thanks to the complimentary admission to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon included with Disney's summer offer. I mean... a water park before a Disney cruise? Yes, please!

Then it's time to board the Disney Wish for 4 magical nights, including a stop at my favorite little slice of paradise—Disney Castaway Cay. 🏝️

🦈 It’s Shark Week… and every time it rolls around, I can’t help but think of one of my all-time favorites: Jaws.

Even though the ride may be gone, the legacy is still alive at Universal Orlando! You can still grab some awesome Jaws-themed merch, snap a photo with the iconic shark, and even enjoy a bite at Chez Alcatraz while soaking in all the nostalgic vibes.

It’s one of those little hidden gems that longtime Universal fans love—and if you’ve never stopped to check it out, make sure you add it to your next visit!
