💔A FAREWELL TO THE STORE HOUSE CHARLEVOIX
We sold our beloved Store House Charlevoix! ❤️🩹 As we close this chapter of our lives, we wanted to share a little of our story and express our gratitude. Several years ago, we purchased a property with a rich history, some serendipity and an exciting vision. We invested our hearts, our creativity, our savings, and countless hours developing it. Along the way, we obtained permits, approvals and encouragement from the city, and successfully complied with all of the requirements placed before us. What we created became more than a house. It became a gathering place where families celebrated milestones, friends reconnected, wedding parties galore and visitors to experience the beauty of Charlevoix. We were blessed to host wonderful guests from around the WORLD, received kind reviews on paper and in PRINT, and made lasting friendships in return.
Unfortunately, after years of reliance on previously granted approvals and without warning, the city changed their minds and we were informed that we could no longer use the property in the manner in which we were approved to do so. We attempted to work through the situation but ultimately found ourselves facing a different future than the one we had envisioned. While the outcome was not what we expected, we allowed ourselves to feel all the feelings and decided to focus on the good and the future. Of course, we have another project in the works.❣️
In another fitting bit of serendipity, an author found our house online earlier this year. She visited while we were there this summer and shared that our home will serve as the inspiration for a future novel to be out in May of 2027. We could not imagine a more meaningful way for this chapter to be remembered.
So, with gratitude, sadness, pride, and hope, we say goodbye. Thank you to the guests who stayed with us, the neighbors and friends who supported us, the tradespeople who helped bring our vision to life, and the many people who shared in the journey. We leave knowing that while houses change hands, stories and memories remain. ❤️ We would like to include special thank yous to our awesome neighbor and friend Ginny, sweet and strong Marcie, unbelievable Barbara and always capable Abe. Without you we would have never experienced the success we did. ❤️
