Last couple of days have been busy. We traveled to Belfast in Northern Ireland. We visited a few places with several highlighted here. Giant’s Causeway, Queens University, a quilt shop and the Titanic Experience. There were other stops I’ll post tomorrow. So far a wonderful trip with fantastic travelers. What a day - shoppers paradise! First a trip to Ireland is not complete without a visit to Triona in Ardara. Beautiful Irish made sweaters, coats, capes, etc. the fabrics are woven and made in Ireland. Denis and Ann are always a pleasure to spend time with. After we nearly bought out the shop we were off to Studio Donegal. We had a weaving demonstration and tour. Their products are made right there from weaving to actually making the jackets, hats, etc. the freshly woven cloth is sent out to be washed and then returned for sewing. The products are available in high quality shops such as Triona and also in their shop on site. Lunch in Donegal afterwards with more retail therapy!! Celtic quilt Journeys .com

Drive to Cliffs of Moher after taking the ferry across the Shannon River. Saw quite a few peat piles - these will certainly help keep the houses warm this winter. The next day off to KYLEMORE Abbey. So beautiful with a great story and history. It was a wedding gift for his wife, then a convent and girl’s school. Now it’s a convent and visitor attraction. Today we stopped at the Knock Shrine. I got some holy water to bring home. Now off to a quilt shop. Before a visit to Belleek later today.

Our travels continue. From Killarney to Di**le - a favorite of mine - a stop at Brian DeStaic jewelers and a bright sunny drive down Slea Head afterwards relaxing in Di**le for lunch and a bit of retail therapy. The next day began our trip north with a quick ride on the ferry across the Shannon and with a stop at Lahinch Beach for lunch. Then onto the Cliffs of Moher. www.celticquiltjourneys.com

This morning we traveled to Blarney Castle & Woollen Mill. A few brave souls climbed the 130+ steps to kiss the Blarney Stone, while others wandered the gardens and all ended up in the fabulous shop. More than a few shipped items home and a few brought shopping bags on the coach. I’d say a good time was had by all $$
