I’ve always felt that the best parts of a getaway happen outside. When I was designing the backyard at Lily Pad, I was very intentional about creating different “pockets” for connection. 🌿🛋️

I was intentional with the layout because I wanted a space that could handle a lively group dinner at the table, while still offering a quiet corner for someone to slip away with a book. Whether it’s sharing stories around the firepit or watching the sunset from the deck, every detail was a very intentional choice to help you truly unplug. 🔥✨

I don’t believe in “heads in beds”, I want your time here to feel like a soft place to land. I’ve just opened up more summer dates for groups and families. 🤍🏡

📈Results like these don’t come from one big change but they come from a series of intentional ones.

✨Since purchasing The Lily Pad at the end of 2023 and launching in March 2024, we focused on how guests actually use space: expanding outdoor living, refining interiors, finishing the lower level, and designing experiences that support connection, rest, and play.

In 2025, the home generated $103,815 a 32% increase from $78.6K under previous ownership and this growth came during recovery after Hurricane Helene in September 2024.

As Asheville continues to recover and travel demand strengthens, we anticipate even greater growth ahead. The market has stabilized and the home is fully optimized for how guests want to stay.

This wasn’t about chasing trends or adding amenities for the sake of it. It was about stewardship. Designing with intention. Hosting actively. And building a home that performs because it’s cared for.

Can I just say WOW!! I don’t post guest reviews often, but this one stopped me in my tracks. It is incredibly rewarding when guests notice the care and intention we pour into our home.

And it truly isn’t just us because The Lily Pad wouldn’t be spotless without our incredible cleaning and maintenance team behind the scenes.

We’re so glad this family had such a great time, and we’re deeply grateful they took the time to share their experience with us.

✨Entertainment at The Lily Pad wasn’t added as an afterthought, it was planned as part of how groups actually spend time together.

🍿Instead of one oversized “everything room,” the lower level was designed with intention: a dedicated movie lounge with a 65” screen, a game area for pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, and skee ball, and a separate arcade room that gives nostalgia its own space.

🎮The result is balance. Places to play, places to relax, and room for everyone to enjoy the stay differently but at the same time.

At The Lily Pad, we approached these updates with one goal in mind: creating spaces that truly support rest. The primary suite was refreshed with layered design, a king bed, and a dedicated home office — allowing guests to unwind and settle in comfortably for longer stays. Upstairs bedrooms and baths were updated with cohesive finishes and thoughtful details that quietly elevate the experience.

These weren’t cosmetic changes. Comfort, layout, and flow directly influence how guests feel and how they remember a stay.

📝Sometimes the most impactful updates aren’t about adding more they’re about editing well.

🌬In the kitchen, removing heavy crown molding allowed the space to breathe, while wallpaper added texture without overwhelming the room. In the living room, we reworked the layout and introduced a woodwork feature wall to create clarity and flow.

These changes weren’t just cosmetic. They improved how the spaces function, photograph, and feel all of which directly influence guest experience.

By giving each area a clear purpose dining, wellness, gathering, and play the backyard became a true extension of the home. These updates didn’t just change how the space looks, they changed how it’s used.

When we purchased The Lily Pad at the end of 2023, it was already a solid home but we believed it could be something more intentional, more usable, and more resilient.

Launched under our care in March 2024, we approached every update with one question in mind: How will guests actually use this space?

This series will break down each renovation and design decision room by room and show how those changes shaped performance, even through recovery after Hurricane Helene in September 2024.
