Thinking about booking your next cruise directly on a cruise line's website? 🚢 Here is a quick insider secret: it doesn’t save you money!

Cruise lines build agent fees directly into their public pricing. If you book on their website, they simply pocket that extra profit instead of giving you the personalized service you already paid for. When you book through me instead, you get:

💰 Exclusive Perks: Access to unadvertised agent rates, locked-in group rates (8+ cabins), and bonus onboard credit.

🕒 Time Saved: No logging into five different sites. I compare Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, MSC, and more to find your perfect vibe and budget.

🛡️ Zero Hold Music: If you need to swap an excursion or adjust your dining times before departure, you text or call me. I handle the call center hold times so you don't have to.

📉 Price Drop Protection: I monitor your cruise for price reductions up to your final payment date and rebook you at the lower rate if it drops.

The bottom line? You don't pay a penny more to use an agent, but you gain a personal advocate from day one. Let’s get your next family vacation on the books! 🌊

NEW TO CRUISING? Read my Cruising 101 guide here!"

🚢 Cruising 101: The New Cruiser’s Cheat Sheet

Welcome to the world of cruising! To make sure your first time on the water is smooth sailing, here is the essential breakdown of how it works.

1. Before You Leave Home
• The Travel App: Almost every cruise line has a dedicated app. Download it now. You will use it to check in, book dining, see the daily schedule, and message shipmates.
• Documents: Even if your cruise allows a Birth Certificate + ID, a Passport is the safest way to travel. If you have an emergency in a foreign port, you cannot fly home without one.
• Online Check-In: Complete this weeks in advance to select your "Arrival Window." If you show up early, you'll likely be waiting in the terminal.

2. Money & The "Cashless" Ship
• The Key Card: Your room key is your everything. It’s your ID, your room key, and your credit card. You’ll link a payment method to it at check-in.
• What’s Included: Your cabin, most meals (Main Dining Room and Buffet), basic drinks (water, tea, coffee), and theater shows/pools.
• Extra Costs: Alcohol/Soda, Specialty Restaurants (Steakhouse, Sushi, etc.), Spa treatments, Wi-Fi, and Daily Gratuities (tips for the crew, usually $16–$20 per person, per day).

3. Packing Essentials
• The "Day One" Bag: Your large suitcases are taken at the pier and delivered to your room hours later. Keep your swimsuit, medications, and chargers in a backpack so you can hit the pool immediately.
• Power Strips: Cabin outlets are limited. Bring a non-surge protected power strip (surge protectors are often confiscated for fire safety).
• Dress Code: Most nights are "Cruise Casual" (sundresses, polos, shorts). Most week-long cruises have 1 or 2 "Formal/Elegant" nights—dress as much or as little as you like!

4. Ship Life & Logistics
• Airplane Mode: Turn this on the moment the ship leaves the dock. "Cellular at Sea" is incredibly expensive. Use the ship's Wi-Fi plan instead.
• Seasickness: Modern ships have "stabilizers" (underwater wings) to keep the ship steady. If you’re worried, bring Bonine or Sea-Bands—they work wonders.
• Dining: You usually choose between "Traditional" (set time/table) or "Flexible" (eat whenever) dining. Check your app for menus!

5. Port Days & Safety
• Ship Time vs. Local Time: This is the #1 rule. Always stay on Ship Time. If the island is an hour ahead and you follow local time, you might miss the ship.
• The "All Aboard": The ship will leave without you if you are late. Always aim to be back at least one hour before the departure time listed in the app.
• Excursions: Booking through the cruise line guarantees the ship waits for you if the tour is late. If you book a private tour, leave plenty of buffer time to get back.

6. Pro-Tip: The "Muster Drill"
By law, everyone must complete a safety briefing. On most modern ships, you watch a video on the app, then go to your "Muster Station" to check in with a crew member. Do this first—the ship cannot sail until everyone is checked in!
