I’m Christy Slavik, the owner of Mom Approved Travel, a boutique Travel Agency specializing in Family Travel. I’d love to tell you my story and a little about me:
I started Mom Approved Travel many years ago with a vision of doing things a little differently, focusing on making sure Moms get a vacation too, so my approach and processes for my clients are a little different! My planning processes
are crafted to protect the precious time and hard-earned travel dollars of overwhelmed Moms (and Dads). I talk Mom focused, but sometimes it’s the dad or Grandma that feels this pressure. Don’t worry, no matter what your role is, I have your back! I can’t tell you how many times talking with a Mom of a teenager hear: “I wanted to take the kids to Disney when they were little, but I didn’t know where to stay, or when to go, and it was too much, so we didn’t go, but I want to take them before they grow up!” This breaks my heart each and every time! Booking a Disney trip, a Universal Orlando trip, a cruise or All Inclusive destination can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. You do not get a gold star for planning your vacation alone! Q: I’ve never worked with a Travel Advisor or Travel Agent before, how does this work? I am a full-time professional, credentialed Travel Advisor. I will book your vacation and guide you through the whole process. In the case of Disney, if you like to do some of the planning yourself- that is totally fine! (I have several Disney pro clients that do this) I can act as a wingman to be there when you need me. If you are a first time vacationer, I can give you an entire trip and itinerary, and will guide you every step of the way! My services are complimentary when most vacation packages are booked through the agency (and consultation solutions for those that are not). You do not get a discount for NOT using a Travel Advisor, so you are paying for the services if you use one or not. Q: Are you an Earmarked Travel Agency, or a certified Disney Travel Agent? A: Although the phrase is misused, there is actually no such thing as a “Disney Travel Agent” or a “certified Disney Travel Agent” BUT Earmarked Travel agencies are absolutely a thing. Mom Approved Travel is an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner agency. We were given this designation by Disney as a result of our agency’s ongoing focus and commitment to planning customized, magical trips to the Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line and other Disney vacation destinations worldwide. Mom Approved Travel Advisors have extensive knowledge of the Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort, Disney Cruise Line®, Adventures By Disney™, Aulani – a Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i. Our professional expertise on the theme parks, resorts, dining, recreational activities, and other amenities – will allow us to customize a Disney vacation that is perfectly crafted for you and your family! Q: When is the BEST time to go on a Disney trip? A: This answer looks different for each family, which is why it is important to chat for a few minutes about what is best for YOUR family. I have visited Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort numerous times and attended many special events including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival, Epcot International Festival of the Holidays - Candlelight Processional, runDisney marathon weekends, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and experienced Disney’s VIP tours. I have been an Annual Passholder for many years and stayed at nearly every Walt Disney World resort so I can guide you one what will suit your people the best. Q: Do you charge fees? A: I do not charge fees for most room + ticket, cruise or vacation packages booked through the agency. However, I do have options available if you have booked your vacation on your own, and find yourself overwhelmed or would like assistance with a component of your hotel (like Disney tickets, or room only reservations for Disney Annual Passholders). Q: Do you only book Disney trips or Universal trips? A: I specialize in family travel, and absolutely assist hundreds of families with cruises, all inclusives, ski trips, guided bucket list trips in addition to theme park focused travel. I’m not supposed to have a favorite, but I do- Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and Disneyland are my favorite “children” but I absolutely love guiding my clients to check off great trips off of their wishlists like:
