Just returned from a week at the Bahia Principe Tequila.
I have real mixed emotions this resort. Grounds, Pools, Rooms are great. People are very friendly but not exactly service oriented. No drink pool service at the main pool, Kiosk ordering at the pool restaurant (which I hated) Was told no blended drinks twice at the pool bar which is nuts. Maid service is excellent. The front desk was friendly but seemed to be most worried about what number you will give on your review instead of doing their job.
My main issue with this resort is the dinner reservation system. I was one who could not get any reservations on the app 10 days and less before arrival. Everything showed booked. The front desk did get me some reservation, however not to either of the restaurants I really wanted, and the buffet is not as good as the al a cart restaurants . Talked to other people on a 10 night stay and they booked 10 reservations. Simply crazy. So Hyatt bought into this property and I am hoping that these few little things will be fixed. All in all a good trip but could be GREAT.

Mexico Travel Update — From Personal Experience

We know headlines can sound alarming, so we want to share some clarity.

I just returned from Cancun, where I stayed at Riu Palace Kukulkan. During that time, Mexican military forces carried out a targeted operation breaking apart a major cartel in the western part of the country near Puerto Vallarta.

It’s important to understand — Puerto Vallarta and Cancun are over 1,300 miles apart, on opposite coasts of Mexico. This action was not directed at tourism or American visitors. It was a focused law enforcement effort, similar to operations that happen in large U.S. cities every week.

While I was in Cancun, everything remained calm, secure, and operating normally in the Hotel Zone. I did travel to a meeting 20 miles away on the day this happened and felt perfectly safe

I continue to monitor any updates and will always communicate with you directly if anything impacts your destination.

As always, I would never send clients somewhere I wouldn’t confidently travel myself.
