I didn't know cenotes could change your life. And then we went to Xenotes Park. 💧✨
Cenotes are natural sinkholes filled with crystal clear freshwater and they are one of Mexico's most magical hidden gems. Xenotes takes you to all FOUR types of them in one day, each with a completely different personality:
🪂 One for zip lining into the water
🚣 One for kayaking through a cave
🧗 One for rappelling down into the water in the cenote
🤿 One for peaceful snorkeling surrounded by nature
I am not exaggerating when I say this was the most peaceful, awe-inspiring experience of our entire trip. There's something about being inside a cenote — surrounded by rock, roots, and light filtering through from above — that just makes you feel completely present. Even my teenagers got quiet. 😂
Well for a little while at least. There may have been some screams during the rappelling, zip line drops and DEFINITELY during that jump from the top down into the the water below! There is also a chance that the only one screaming was me. But I would do them all over again... and again!

Xenses Park

Okay, this one is hard to explain. But I’m going to try. 😂
Xenses is unlike ANY park I have ever been to. It’s not a water park. It’s not a zip line park. It’s a… sensory experience? An illusion park? A place where your brain gets completely tricked and you love every second of it?
Here’s just a taste of what we experienced:
👁️ Optical illusions that made us question reality
🐦 A “bird flight” where you zip over a village lying completely flat like you’re flying
🌫️ A muddy river float
🍋 Experiencing all the ecosystems while being entirely dependent on your all your senses…. Except your sight! 👁️
🚶 A path where the ground tilts and your whole sense of balance goes out the window
It sounds weird. It IS weird. And it was SO MUCH FUN. 😂
My family laughed more at Xenses than anywhere else on the trip. It’s pure joy and silliness, and it reminded me that the best travel experiences are the ones that surprise you.

Hold on tight. 🎢 Literally.
Xplor Park was one of the most exhilarating days our family has EVER had and I say that as someone who has traveled a LOT. 😅
Here’s what we did in ONE evening:
🪂 Zip lined through the jungle (the views are insane)
🚗 Drove amphibious vehicles through the jungle
🌊 Raced down the most epic water slide. This thing was fantastic! I feel like we have ridden our fair share of waterslides with as many theme parks as we’ve been to, and this one absolutely blew us away! We rode it twice!
🕯️ Paddled through underground caves lit by stalactites

This park is pure adrenaline from start to finish, and I cannot recommend it enough for families who love adventure. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and I’ve been to a LOT of theme parks.

It is really two parks in one. It is Xplor by day or go at night like we did and it becomes Xplor Fuego!

We spent Spring Break in Mexico and I NEED to talk about it. My teens had been asking for an adventure trip for TWO years. After back-to-back trips to Europe, beautiful as it was, they wanted something different. They wanted to *do* things. Jump off things. Swim through things. Feel things.

So for spring break, we booked Hotel Xcaret in Riviera Maya, Mexico. And WOW did we DO some things! They knew we were going to do a lot but we kept one thing under wraps. We didn’t tell them about the room until we got there. 👀

Imagine their surprise when they saw we had a **river jump suite** — with their OWN platform to jump directly into the river running through the resort. 😭🙌

That reaction? That’s why I do what I do. (Watch closely and you can see it. If you have teens, you know that getting their jaws to drop for anything means you did something right. I might have to frame that photo.)

I know, I know I promised all the Xcaret details! I’ve been home a week and have been up to my ears playing catch up with work. BUT….. I didn’t forget! It was an amazing trip and I have a lot to share. I’m so sorry to have kept you in suspense for so long.

We had someone staying with our dog so that is why I didn’t post live while we were away. And I have over 300 photos and videos that I’ve been sorting today so keep an eye out over the next few days!
