🚨✈️ Southwest Airlines Updated Baggage Policy Starts Today (May 28, 2025) ✈️

No more "Bags Fly Free" policy. Effective today, new baggage fees are in place:

⭐️$35 for the first checked bag
⭐️$45 for the second checked bag

These fees apply to tickets booked or changed on or after May 28, 2025. Tickets purchased before this date will still honor the previous free baggage policy as long as there is no change.

Business Select passengers
Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred members = 2 free checked bags

A-List members and Rapid Rewards Credit Card holders =1 free checked bag

Active duty military will still have 2 free bags.

Hawaii residents traveling between the islands continue to receive two free checked bags.

All other passengers will be subject to the new baggage fees.

This change aligns Southwest with other major U.S. airlines and is part of a broader strategy to enhance profitability.

Plan Accordingly! If you have upcoming travel and plan to book with Southwest, be sure to factor in these new baggage fees. New seating policy is also underway.
