Meet “Boo”! Boo is our third special shape balloon this year! Boo is a brand new shape made in Brazil!

Boo is piloted by Jupiter Flight’s Balloonmeister, Jack Semler! Jack is from Westfield, Indiana!

We are looking forward to seeing Boo at Jupiter Flights September 5-7!!!

Heading to Galesburg this weekend to celebrate their 25th Balloon Festival!!!

Here is all of the Hot Air Balloons and their pilots that will be joining us this weekend! Feel free to use this for a scavenger hunt and see how many of the balloons you can find. Then, take a photo and tag .

The first flight is scheduled for 6 pm Friday, July 25th (weather permitting) and glow will follow at approximately 8:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

And last, but certainly not least, is our 25th pilot, Jack Semler of Westerfield, IN. He will be flying his special shape, Boo! Boo was recently designed by Jack's wife, Lynn, and was built in 2025 by Airfly Balloons in Brazil. Jack and Lynn have been designing an entire fleet of Halloween themed shapes. You may remember Smiley Scarecrow, Oggy the Friendly Dragon and Little D from our event over the past few years. Boo is a 120 cubic foot balloon but performs more like a 90 cubic foot due to internal rigging weight (to give you an idea, most of the balloons attending will be 77 or 90 cu ft). Boo will be glowing both Friday and Saturday nights and will try to fly both Saturday and Sunday mornings, weather permitting. Be sure to notice his special eyes!

Thank you Angola Balloons Aloft and Cameron Memorial Community Hospital for bringing us to Angola and sharing Boo! While the weather presented some challenges we loved sharing Boo with the Angola Community!

We had so much fun tonight! Thank you to everyone that came out to support The Great Balloon Race, Galesburg, IL. for our music trivia night! This year will mark the 25th annual Great Balloon Race from July 25-27, 2025 at Lake Storey Park in Galesburg, IL. We are hoping to have 25 hot air balloons, including our special shape balloon, Boo. Boo is a brand new balloon piloted by Jack Semler of Indy Hot Air. And our fall music trivia night will be November 1, 2025, at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Be sure to mark your calendars for both events.
