Battered and fried Calamari + Banana peppers | Grilled wild Georgia shrimp, coleslaw, fries | Hushpuppies with cinnamon butter | Low country Boil - crab, crayfish, shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, potatoes, lemon butter. 🤤
Cutlery is optional. 😉

I’m not quite sure what to call this goodness, it’s close to pesto but not quite, a flavoured almond butter distant cousin perhaps? In any case it is a rather delicious treat I strongly advise you to give a go at making.
A casual guide to making this:
- a generous handful of almonds
- a bunch of fresh basil
- 1 clove of garlic
- half a lemon squeeze
- 2 tbsp of grated parmesan, more give than take 🤩
- olive oil to your hearts content

I may have also thrown in a bit of coriander... yes I did do it! 😜

Throw it over warm pasta or bread, or just it straight from the Jar. No one will judge you! 😉

Happy Shrove Tuesday / Fat Tuesday / Mardi Gras / Pancake day!

We went solely French this year and kicked off with the traditional savoury that I love - Buckwheat crêpes - with cheese, ham and the whole shebang! followed by the yummiest crêpes topped with sautéed apples and pears, homemade salted caramel and whipped cream. 😅 There was also the option of red berries and cream but I didn’t manage to accomplish as far.
After this 3 courses affair I feel like I need to go into deep hibernation now for a couple of months.
What’s your favourite pancake style/ and toppings?

Last Monday was a day of a few Firsts. Amongst them, 1st time driving long distance, 1st time behind the wheel & completely alone! That in itself was already a real challenge (for me anyways since I’m a rookie driver 😬).
Guess the weather forecast for that one day of the week?
Dense fog in the morning and solid rain in the evening on the way back.
“You’ve got to be kidding me” I muttered. Actually worse profanities were said but I rather not word them here.
Moral of the story, If you look at Challenges as means for growth by pushing boundaries and through your fears, once you come out the other end a whole set of new possibilities opens up to you, with the added bonus of feeling freer, stronger and wiser.
My first thought at the end of that day was that I should now plan a road trip! haha
plus getting the itch to brave the 6 lanes highways with giant lorries at 110km/hr any day now! 😅
