📘 Four of our members are attending the FEMA Active Shooter Incident Management (ASIM) course — a 3-day, 24-hour training designed to prepare first responders for some of the toughest situations.

All four are part of our department’s training cadre, and they’ll be bringing this knowledge back to share with the rest of the team. This helps ensure our department stays ready and prepared to protect and serve our community at the highest level.

We’re proud of their dedication and grateful for the opportunity to strengthen our skills for the safety of everyone we serve. ❤️🇺🇸

Grateful for moments like these !!

A little over two weeks ago, four of our members attended the Firemanship conference in Aurora, IL. This is the second year in a row that we’ve been blessed with the ability to meet with the absolute best of the best in the Fire Service. These conferences are crucial for us to keep up to date with the highest level of training possible. In addition to Firemanship, we attend FDIC, and a handful of FOOLS held conferences in the Midwest every year. We are extremely grateful to be enabled to learn, and take part in this culture.

While it’s uncommon for a department of our size to be so active with external events; it is by far the most beneficial to increasing our ability to serve the citizens of Jenks.

At approximately 1310 hours on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 (C Shift) JFR was dispatched to a Vehicle on Fire with a confirmed entrapment. This video is from the POV of E1’s Driver.

R2 arrived on scene first, assumed Rescue priority, provided a size up and passed command to the incoming 603 unit. E1 arrived on scene just behind R2, and assumed Fire Attack using R2’s bumper line.

Thanks to the efforts of first arriving Jenks Public Schools Police Department Officers, Jenks Police Department, and by-standers, the Victim was removed from the vehicle prior to our arrival. These individual’s utilized multiple Fire Extinguishers to provide a barrier between the Victim, and the Fire located in the Engine compartment.

This incident displayed phenomenal cohesion between the Fire Department, Police Departments, and EMSA OKLAHOMA. Not only was the cohesion great between all these different entities, C Shift also had 3 individuals working overtime from B Shift. Communication was kept to a minimum, along with Radio Traffic; yet every member operated together almost flawlessly. It’s very rare that we aren’t critical of ourselves on any given incident, however during our de-brief it was clear that our operational effectiveness exceeded previous standards.

Another successful Auto-Extrication day with EMSA OKLAHOMA is in the books !

On Tuesday, Local 2567 members from all 3 shifts participated in an event that we hold annually at Station 2 with the current Paramedic class at EMSA Tulsa. We are so grateful for our relationship with these fine Men & Women.

As a Local, we also heavily appreciate their continuous support on the street in addition to training.

These events are extremely beneficial for building continuity between crews. From isolated skills, to large-scale incident management; we always walk away with something learned.

All 7 Rookies have officially earned their new Leather Helmet !

Each shift has their own form of a classic tradition when a member passes their probationary year. As a Local, we are extremely proud of the Culture being fostered every single day.

We are also not just proud of the Rookies, but appreciative to every senior man that has poured their knowledge into every one of these guys. Succession training is something every crew takes seriously, and we are confident in their ability to serve the citizens of Jenks as aggressive, and competent Firemen for years to come.

Congratulations Men !
