Sholom Lavin (SR Lavin) was born in 1945 and died in 2019. We met at Pitchford’s RV Park where we were both living, and became fast friends. For the three years I knew him, Sholom was a confidant and a fierce defender—going so far as to protect me from a would-be attacker who lived nearby. He was a courageous and wonderful friend. Lady June Press is proud to have published MAHAT and THE VELVET-LINED TOILET BOWL. His memoir will be coming later this year. I promised him I’d publish it, and it’s been waiting in the wings. You are missed, Sholom. ❤️

💔In the years since Miles died, people have asked me, “Where’s the obituary?” There is none—because I was so overwhelmed I forgot to write one. I dealt with losing my brother by editing his articles on martial arts and compiling them into a book.

He got his start in Shim Gum Do, a Korean martial art, at Tinicum Art and Science, a private Buddhist high school in Ottsville, Pennsylvania. This book serves to honor his life and his life’s work.
