Spent the weekend just before Christmas camping & biking at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. There are SO many bike trails at this park. Whether you like pavement or off-road, you'll find something to do here. The weather in Florida has been beautiful the past month and we hope it keeps up so that we can have more adventures.

For an "old" Florida experience, take a hike around the Santa Fe River at O'Leno state park. The iconic bridge at this park is closed, but you can walk the loop around the island and it's pet friendly. There are also paddling, swimming, and biking opportunities here, but we didn't get a chance to check those out.

This is a nice quick stop to stretch your legs if you're driving on 1-75 just north of Gainesville in FL. It's not too far from the highway, $5 entry, and plenty of parking.

Info below on the Legacy Trail - an awesome and free biking trail that runs from Venice to Sarasota for over 18 miles. This trail connects to the Venice Waterway trail as well. If you're looking for a place to bike near Venice, this is it.

For a long paved trail and Southwest Florida, visit the Legacy Trail! Post commonly used for biking, this rail trail is 18 miles long.

Gorgeous day for fishing off the docks at in the Apopka area just north of Orlando. It's a small park tucked away in a neighborhood, but they have a small trail, lots of docks for fishing, a large playground, and even a small campground. The docks are a great place to watch the sunset.

Amazing ride at Mt. Dora Bike Park.. something for everyone here at this tucked away park north of Orlando. If you like mountain biking, make a stop here on your next trip. Completely free and they have everything from beginner trails to big drops. My hubby even tried the gravity destroyer!
