Starting out the year with an update on republishing my book. I chose Elevate! as my word for the year along with Psalms 21:7 - For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken. What is your word for the year? Do you trust in God as your hiking poles as you elevate your game in 2025? I do!

Sometimes it is better to keep silent and not let things go "into the wind." Matthew 7:6, Proverbs 10:14 and proverbs 13:3 are great resources. We also had some laughter today and well, just silly on Thanksgiving Eve.

We can plan lots of things in life but things do not always go according to our plans. We can manage our expecations and know that sometimes, well, things in life happen. This week our verse focused on Paul and the passengers on the ship in Acts 27:13-27. Before we can start scratching the soil to pull out the stones and developing fertile soil, we need to focus on clearing out the pollution of life and listen to God's plans for us.

How do you start clearing the thorns in your life? Start serving others. Serving helps to remove the confines of the world so you can start finding your way to the ground and doing the hard work.

The beginning of the episode we cover Bible verses which refer to soil (36) or ground in a couple. This helps us understand that the condition of our hearts or the soil is what enables us to bear good fruit. In other words, we have to work the soil to bear good fruit. Then I talk about someone I am working with in my people garden and how we bear good fruit.
