The last couple of weeks on the Kasilof River have been a great start to our sockeye salmon season. We’ve had consistent action, plenty of bright fish, and lots of smiling anglers heading home with full coolers.

As July continues, we’ll soon be making the transition to the Kenai River, where the peak of the sockeye run is just around the corner. If you’ve been thinking about experiencing Alaska’s world-famous red salmon fishery, now is the time.

A big thank you to everyone who has joined us on the Kasilof so far—we’re looking forward to seeing many more of you on the Kenai in the weeks ahead!

New Drift Boat Take-Out Area Complete for 2026

One of the biggest improvements for the 2026 season is the completion of the new drift boat take-out area on the Kasilof River – Old Kasilof Landing located at 25951 Williamson Lane, Kasilof, AK 99610.

The recreation area is a boat retrieval site with parking and improved river access that is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
