The final day of Marine Biology Camp consisted of a visit to the Aplysia lab at RSMAS followed by a successful fish tagging trip to the Mashta Bridge in Key Biscayne where we not only caught many species of fish, but the campers also got to see a lemon shark and a manatee mom with her calf. Thank you to the Village of Key Biscayne for allowing us to fish from the bridge and thank you to the Key Biscayne Police Officers who helped with traffic control.

Marine Biology Camp is proud to once again adopt a sea turtle nest at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. The photo on the nest is a tribute to Ranger Bill Ahearn, who was the Miami-Dade County Sea Turtle permit holder for many years and passed away in 2020. My daughter took the picture when she was probably 9 or 10, of Ranger Bill showing a turtle egg to two campers.
