Our Story
I started Key West’s first ghost tour in 1996. That’s when I first heard about Robert the Doll. I have been obsessed ever since.
Nobody knew much about Robert, except that he once belonged to Gene Otto and was haunted. I love tracing legends back to their origins, and with Robert, I was the first to identify him as a Steiff creation from Germany. But it was my discovery of a treasure trove of photos, letters, and documents pertaining to Robert’s family that really added depth and explanation to the mysterious haunting of Robert the Doll. I documented many of my findings in the biography of Robert the Doll.
In 2020, after nearly 25 years of hunting ghosts in Key West, I’ve partnered with the non-profit Key West Art & Historical to bring you an authentic Robert the Doll Experience that blends history, mystery, and paranormal exploration. We dispel the misinformation circulating the internet, tour the Fort East Martello’s off-limits tunnel, do a Spirit Box session with Gene Otto’s ghost, and spend 20-minutes locked-down with Robert the Doll.
I still can’t believe I have keys to an 1862 Civil War fortress that is home to the world’s most haunted doll. Join us for a nighttime experience at the fort, and I think you will be as excited as we are.
