Have you noticed "Naval Air Station" popping up on some Google listings in Key West? ✈️

If you have a Key West business, take a moment to check your Google listing and shoot me a message if it shows "Naval Air Station". I finally have a contact at Google who is correcting this weird overlay and he asked for a list to correct it, and also to help them figure out how and why it happened in the first place.

If you're a Florida Keys business and do not have a listing on Google, reach out so I can help you get that set up. I won't charge you at all (& neither does Google) and it's a pretty simple process.

Your Annual Report, along with fee, is due no later than Sunday, May 1st at 11:59pm. The fee for missing the cutoff is $400 so do not cut it close! Profit Corporations pay $150.00 and LLCs owe $138.75. Credit and debit cards are accepted online and there is an option to mail it. Just be sure that it's postmarked by April 30th so it isn't marked late.

If you've had changes to officers, addresses, registered agents or your FEIN, this is the time to make updates at no additional cost.

Hey there my small business friends and owners, be sure to confirm your holiday hours on your Google Business listing. This is especially important if you are scheduled to be OPEN because Google will note "Hours May Differ" if you don't confirm or update them.

Go to your business.google.com listing, click Info, then scroll down to the dates listed under the More Hours section (see screenshots). Click the little pencil to edit, scroll down to this year's dates and Confirm or Update. Be sure to click Apply on the bottom left!

Local business tip:
Several businesses in Key West have seen an unwanted update on their Google business listing. Business listings are showing “Naval Air Station” for downtown businesses and you don’t want that. I’m assuming it was a Google glitch so you may not have even noticed but you definitely want to submit a correction. Let me know if you need assistance.

What a fantastic evening at 7 Artists Gallery with Andreas Franke and his exhibit Plastic Ocean from The Sinking World. This was a plastic free event and with everyone bringing their own cup or purchasing one of Surfrider Florida Keys stainless ones, the actual waste was just a handful. How cool is that? Join us for our monthly Environmental Happy Hour on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7:30pm.
