30 seconds is all it takes for a toddler to drown. 30 seconds of sheer silence. No splashes, no screams....all hidden and silenced under the water. 30 seconds during a time they aren't supposed to be in or near the water is when it most often happens.

This is why constant, focused supervision, even in the hours after swim time, and during swim breaks.

This is why pool fences.

This is why survival skills like rolling to their back to float.

This is why, if you have to, CPR.

Drowning can happen to anyone. It happens even under the watchful eyes of careful parents. It CAN happen to you too.

You could tell yourself that your kid knows better than to go to the water alone (they don’t), or that the driver is a safe driver (everyone makes mistakes). Why not do everything in our power to keep our babies safe?

Drowning kills more kids 1-4 than car accidents or anything else for that matter. It is the #1 cause of death for this age group.

What if we had high door locks, door alarms or fences, automatic covers, pool alarms, etc? This would save lives. It could save a the life of someone you know and love.

Going on spring break? Call your hosts, your friends, your host, , etc. There is plenty of time, at a minimum, to order a door alarm or add a high lock to the doors.

Shout out to for putting door locks as well as water safety education dozens of his properties down in Florida… litteral life saver!
