Hello friends. After much consideration, we are selling Kealoha due to limited time and an old back injury that restricts the annual maintenance upkeep and primary duties she deserves.

This Grand Banks 32’ Sedan Trawler “Kealoha” is a wood hull built in 1969 and stamped #163 out of 861 produced from 1966 to 1996.

She has been a generous and loving vessel in so many ways ;) We’ve put in countless hours of updates over the last two years and she in turn rewarded us with boatloads of great memories! We’ve cruised day trips and overnight stays from Portsmouth NH to; the Isle of Shoals, Boothbay, Provincetown, Gloucester, Martha’s Vineyard, multiple trips whale watching through Stellwagen bank, and more. We've hosted a hundred overnight guests all boasting exceptional reviews.

When you own a Grand Banks, you are in the club with other GB enthusiasts... we met many, many other Grand Banks owners. The GB community is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. It's an amazing group to be a part of!

Kealoha is a beautiful pocket cruiser ready for new owners to take her on new adventures! She is currently in the water, winterized, shrink-wrapped, and secured at a dock slip through the Winter. Full details, recent work and photos are posted at kealohastyle.com. Reach out to schedule an appointment to come see her! Send a direct message through fb or contact us through our website.

Chasing an issue that began when the motor stalled at idle, this led me through a series of “things to check”. The starter, starter solenoid, is there enough power reaching the starter, hand turn the crankshaft, and finally learned the flywheel is seized. So, when these damper plates fail, pieces of metal fall off into the flywheel housing and stay there until they are jiggled between the flywheel and the case. About a 1/8” space. At low rpm’s or idle, eventually the loose metal gets stuck and the flywheel will stop turning. You now have a seized flywheel. It’s about an hour to get at the flywheel by removing the propeller shaft, the transmission and transmission bell housing. Then another 3-4 hours removing lodged metal pieces with pick tools from the failed damper plate. Looking at the failed damper plate, there’s one piece of metal spring that broke off, HOWEVER, there are more broken metal springs that I found when removing all the loose pieces that froze the flywheel. Seems the last time it was replaced they DID NOT do a thorough job of cleaning up the loose metal from the previously failed damper plate. JEEZ. And here I am putting a new one in. They say the damper plate will last 2500 hours. I will install this new damper plate and document this in my maintenance log. Tips to know if your vessel has a single diesel motor- Ford Lehman 120hp Diesel.
