Appalachian Escape Cabin

Appalachian Escape Cabin Vacation Rental | Private/ Secluded Log Cabin | Near Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, Great Smoky Mountains This is anything but a cookie cutter log home!

We looked far and wide, until we were able to find the right place. We prefer seclusion, privacy and uniqueness, while many area cabins are located in the 'resorts' where privacy is in short supply, and cabins look alike and cookie cutter. When we found 'Appalachian Escape', there was no mistaking we had found what we were searching for! We originally fell in love with cabin's large and secluded p

roperty and the peaceful feel it exuded. The cabin itself was another story - the previous owners have erected the "shell" (foundation, walls, roof and windows/doors), but the inside has never been completed. There were no interior walls, no flooring, no power and only some rudimentary plumbing. We bought the cabin in 2013, and it took us over a year to add, renovate or install EVERYTHING in the cabin: walls, hardwood floors, doors, trim, stairs, insulation, HVAC, furniture, appliances, lighting, fireplace, cabinetry...and...and...and... It was a lot of work, but the end result is a fantastic, top-of-the-line mountain cabin that your family and friends will love to come to and won't ever want to leave!! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have lots to do, from hiking, to white water rafting, to fine dining and live shows, to horseback riding and Go-Karts. We know that this area can entertain virtually any family for years to come...

Why Book Your Smoky Mountain Vacation Rental Early?
If you’re planning a mountain getaway, timing matters more than many travelers realize. The most desirable, highly rated, and fairly priced homes are often reserved months in advance. Waiting too long can mean fewer/less desirable choices, higher prices, or having to compromise on desired amenities.

Tip: If you know your travel dates, start shopping early - especially for summer, holidays, or leaf season.

The Smoky Mountains are home to a wide variety of wildlife, making them one of the most visited natural regions in the United States. One common question from guests staying in our cabins is whether wild boar are present in Tennessee.
The short answer: yes, feral hogs (often referred to as wild boar) exist in the region, including areas near Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but sightings are rare for most visitors. See more >>> https://www.bluemountaincabins.com/blog/Feral-Hogs-Boars-in-Tennessee-Smoky-Mountains

Wild Violets in the Great Smoky Mountains: A Delicate Sign of Spring.
Every spring, the forests of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park come alive with wildflowers. Among the earliest and most charming are wild violets, small purple blooms that brighten the forest floor and signal that warmer days have arrived. If you're visiting the Smokies in early to mid-spring, spotting these tiny flowers along hiking trails is a special treat.

The Great Smoky Mountains are home to more than 1,500 species of flowering plants, earning the park the nickname "Wildflower National Park."
Among the most fascinating and rare wildflowers in the park are the Lady Slipper orchids, including the Pink Lady Slipper and the Yellow Lady Slipper species that grow in select forest habitats throughout the Smokies.
