We were walking the river when this incredible eagle came swooping overhead — so close, it felt like we could reach out and touch it.

There’s something about Alaska at dusk that feels almost unreal.

As the light began to fade, we watched a Kodiak mama bear calmly lead her three cubs across the road. A few moments later, we slowly drove by them, taking in one of those once-in-a-lifetime sights from the safety of our car.

Watching those cubs stay close to their mom, exploring the world while she watched over every step, was a reminder that we're just visitors in their home.

Some wildlife encounters leave you speechless. This was one of them—and a moment we'll never forget.

There are some families you meet on the water who you know you’ll remember for a long time. ❤️

This crew came up to Alaska ready for an adventure, and they truly made the most of every minute. Great people, plenty of laughs, good fishing, and memories they’ll be talking about for years to come.

Watching families experience Alaska together is one of the best parts of what we do. We’re so grateful they chose to spend a day on the water with us — and judging by the smiles, they had the time of their lives! 🎣🏔️

Summer in Kodiak isn't just about the fishing or the mountains—it's also about the incredible wildflowers that blanket the island in color.

Every trail, hillside, and coastline seems to come alive with vibrant blooms, reminding us to slow down and appreciate the simple beauty that surrounds us. It's one of those little things that makes this island feel so special.

We were watching from the docks when this sea lion decided to climb aboard an empty fishing charter boat—and help himself to the bait box! 😂🦭🎣

Nobody was on board… just one very determined sea lion looking for a free snack. You never know what you’re going to see around Alaska!

As fishing guides here in Alaska, we get to share some pretty incredible moments with clients—but watching a Kodiak brown bear chase down a red salmon right in front of us was something special. 🐻🐟

You can spend a lifetime on these rivers and still be surprised by what Alaska has in store. Moments like this are exactly why we love getting out here. Wild, powerful, and completely unforgettable!

While we're usually sharing our guests' adventures, today we're sharing one of our own.

One of our favorite family traditions is making the trip out to Saltery—a remote river on Kodiak Island that's only accessible by a 16-mile side-by-side ride through some of Alaska's most beautiful backcountry. The journey is half the adventure, and the destination never disappoints.

For us, it's not just about catching fish. It's about unplugging, spending quality time together, making memories, and sharing a place that has become so special to our family.

These are the moments that fill our cups and keep us connected—to each other and to this incredible island.

We're grateful to be able to share Kodiak with our guests all season long, but every now and then it's nice to slow down and enjoy it as a family.
