It's been 7 years since I first started restoring Maison Mouton. Over the years, I was able to restore John Nickerson House and Historic Givens Townhouse. Our goal is to restore these historic houses and run a sustainable businesses out of them to keep them preserved. The second goal is to open up to the public and let everyone enjoy these houses. I think we some what achieved our goals.
We recently engaged CARBO Landscape Architecture to design a master plan so we can bring this project to a closure. I am pleased with the initial plan on how they created different intimate spaces with great connectivity by keeping in mind the historic nature of the property.
As all ways, I will let my friends be the judge in giving me the input on what you feel is necessary.

I am glad I got the opportunity to own and restore a piece of Lafayette's history.
These historic houses have stood the test of time, weathering storms, wars and countless generations, reminding us of the strength and endurance of human creativity.
They are living witnesses to the joys and sorrows of those who came before us.
Let's appreciate the resilience, craftmanship, the attention to detail, and the sheer determination that went into creating these master pieces.

Givens Townhouse located in the Sterling Grove National Historic District and in the same block as Maison Mouton and the John Nickerson House. Sarah "Sallie" Lyle Torian, Widow of Judge John Slye Givens (1835-1887) built Givens Townhouse in 1893 to resemble a house she saw in Lake Charles. Elements such as multiple bays and gables, copious spindle work, fish scale siding and pierced wood give the house it's Eastlake designation. It is one of the few remaining buildings that feature a double polygonal bay under a gable roof and a double galleries.
