I got my first full-time job as a television journalist back in 1998 (whaaaaattttt?!?) and have written on the job almost every day since, including nearly 400 episodes of a national t.v. show about movies, but I have just completed my Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in screenwriting. I'm thrilled to be able to share my voice in a whole new way and looking forward to the next chapter.

A big congratulations to these 15 Orange County high school students, who were chosen as semifinalists in the film/animation category for Artist of the Year 2021. I would have liked to see a few young women on this page, but I'm not sure how many female OC students are involved in directing, editing, cinematography, etc. and whether any were nominated. Female students: something to think about if you have an interest in film and/or animation. My screenwriting MFA cohort at Cal State Fullerton only had one other woman when I started two years ago and then one more joined a week or two later. Ladies, we want to hear your stories and see your vision as well.
