I have some thoughts on Disney in September! It’s pretty simple actually...go to DisneyLAND, not Walt Disney WORLD if your only vacation time lands in early September.

You still benefit from many schools being back in session (lower crowds), Halloween fun is BIG and underway there as well, and Southern California weather tends to be much kinder than central Florida. You don’t have to worrying about hurricanes. In fact you don’t have to worry about rain all day, and the refreshing cool nights are amazing!

Another thing you’ll love is that Disneyland is easier to navigate. So even if it is warm, you’re not walking miles and waiting in oppressive heat for transportation. The parks are close together. The hotels are nearby. Midday breaks are actually realistic instead of feeling like a major expedition and huge time loss.

If you've been wanting a Disney vacation in September but can’t handle that humidity of central Florida, problem solved! Let’s talk more about it!

Did you know this resort has a mascot?
Have you heard of Humphrey the Bear? He’s the resident mascot at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, but he’s pretty quiet about it! You can find him on merch, as the base of the character totem pole and featured by pin trading, but you won’t find HIM roaming around...yet. He’s been spotted vacationing in Disneyland though!

Did you know about Humphrey? Got any merch with him on it? If so, share a pic!

Hurricane season in Disney may end up being the best trip you’ll ever have!
It may sound crazy for your Travel Advisor to be encouraging a visit to Walt Disney World in the middle of hurricane season, but hear me out. Crowds are lower, most kids are in school. You dont have to worry about doing your hair, just toss on a hat and a smile, it will be fine!

Whether you are there for storm warnings, mid-storm or for the beautiful after storm weather, there is no place like “home” during hurricane season. I can help you find a resort that will best meet your needs.

For starters, there is nowhere safer. Even though Walt Disney World is located in Central Florida, far from the coasts, all buildings are designed to withstand gale force winds. Cast Members are trained to keep guests safe, calm and even entertained. The property is prepared with food, water and supplies regardless of the resort tier you’ve chosen to stay in.

Hurricane season, specifically September, also brings the lowest crowd levels, fun Fall decor and best room promotions. Knowing that your Disney pals will keep you safe, are you willing to plan a trip during Florida’s hurricane season?

When people hear "lower crowds" they usually think shorter wait times. They're right...but that's only part of it.

Lower crowds often mean it's easier to grab that dining reservation you've been hoping for. You have a better shot at experiencing more attractions before lunch. Walkways don't feel nearly as packed and you're spending less time weaving through people just to get from one land to another.
However, when it comes to the weather, it’s less than ideal. Unless working out in a sauna sounds like a good time. {If you’ve visited during this time, say so.} So my advice...hydrate, pack the cooling towels, take an afternoon resort break and enjoy those air-conditioned attractions when you need them.

September isn't just about lower crowds. It's about getting more vacation packed into every day...but sweating through it. Would you make that trade?

Passing up a ride doesn’t mean not having fun! The days of holding bags and waiting in the blaring heat at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are now declared over! It’s OK that you don’t want to ride, but that doesn’t mean you have to put your fun on pause.

Mosey on over to Critter-Co-op! It’s a cozy little shop located just steps from Big Thunder Mountain. It’s heavily themed for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in the most adorable way. Be sure to look up! Sure there will be cute merchandise, treats and temptations all around, but it also has shade, air conditioning and music to keep you in the Disney mood while the rest of your party is screaming with their hands up as they pass a goat!

I guess what I’m getting at is Walt Disney World is for EVERYONE and if you need help seeing how it can be for a family mixed with thrill seekers and non-thrill seekers, that’s what I do. So which are you?

Don't treat this queue like a line! I know everyone is excited to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. But Hogwarts Castle is one of the few ride queues at Universal Orlando Resort where not using Express Pass makes the experience better.

You're not just weaving through a corral. You're walking through the greenhouse, Dumbledore's office, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the Gryffindor common room and hallways lined with moving portraits. You'll pass the Mirror of Erised, the Sorting Hat and even the troll security office before you ever get close to a ride vehicle.

Here's something a lot of people don't realize: if someone in your group doesn't want to ride Forbidden Journey, they can still experience the castle- just ask a Team Member about exiting early.

Seasoned ride wizards, what are your thoughts about Forbidden Journey? How did your first time go? Are you thinking about planning a trip to Universal Studios? I would love to help you! Lindasdreamvacations.com
