That client said, "You already done?", got out of chair then went over to the ottoman and got comfortable then we talked for 40 mins because she said, "We haven't even started our conversation yet. I only heard one and a half songs, you havent told me anything funny. And I havent updated you on my life"

CLIENT: I mean you asked me that same question the last 2 times I came here.

I WISH Y'ALL COULD HAVE SEEN THE LOOK OF CONCERN ON HIS 18 YEAR OLD FACE. THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD SAY OR DO, BUT SHRUG MY SHOULDERS, LAUGH, AND WAIT FOR HIS ANSWER.

Then he pretended he was gonna pay the stated price. He asked his son a question in their language, son nodded "no".

GUY: "OK. Nevermind he said he doesn't want to get a cut here".

CLIENT: I'm gonna skip the scalp massage and whatever product you been using after the cut because my hair is growing back too fast. And I'm starting to need a cut sooner than usual. (WHILE I'M TAKING OFF THE CAPE): OK, ok, wait! Maybe just massage my neck and shoulders.

NOTE: He gets a medium skin fade with a 2 on top. And he came in a week before his normal monthly appointment.

CLIENT (WHILE I SHAMPOO HIM): I'm getting my hair retwisted tomorrow.

ME: Why not have her shampoo you? Or does she require you to come with it already done?

CLIENT: It would be an additional fee.

ME: How much? Because you may save money having her do it.

CLIENT: She adds on like $10.

ME: Ummm, sir, you are about to pay me more than that. Im just saying.

CLIENT: OK, look... I didn't want to sound weird but your shampoos feel so good, my hair feels cleaner after you finish, and that steam does something to my scalp.

ME: Word up!!!

CLIENT: Hey, Danielle?

ME: Yes

CLIENT: This is _______. Ummm, I don't want to get my hair retwisted any more. But I still want a shampoo, color, and my neck cleaned up.

ME: Cool. What day and time?

CLIENT: Oh, I don't know. I just wanted to call and tell you that.

ALL I COULD DO WAS LAUGH. WE BOTH CRACKED UP.

ME: She died yesterday.
CLIENT: Why would you say it like that?

I'M NOT SURE WHAT MY FACIAL EXPRESSION WAS.

CLIENT: You could have said that she passed away.
ME: Would that make her less gone?

MAYBE I SHOULD STAY HOME AND NOT INTERACT WITH PEOPLE RIGHT NOW. IMAGINE HOW THE PEOPLE FEEL WHEN I SAY THAT SHE "KICKED IT". OR SING THAT SHE WENT TO THE "UPPER ROOOOOOOOM". I HAVEN'T EXACTLY PRACTICED THE PROPER WAY TO SAY IT THAT WOULD MAKE OTHER PEOPLE FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE.
