Our last stop to complete our Scandinavian adventure was in Stockholm! Very cool city and we enjoyed an Archipelago Cruise (did you know Stockholm is made up of 14 islands and Sweden has more islands than any other country in the world?)! We are headed home today!

Our last full day in Copenhagen yesterday, we rode bikes all over the city to take in some palaces, churches and more. I love the bike culture in Denmark!

Monday afternoon we took the train to Roskilde to tour the cathedral and Viking Museum. Lots of cool history! On the way back we stopped at the Copenhagen Zoo. It was fun to see some animals that our zoo doesn’t have like giant panda and wallaby’s!

Yesterday morning we climbed Church of our Savior church (400 steep steps!) and took a canal tour. Today we tour some more palaces and castles!

Our first evening in Copenhagen we visited the famous Tivoli Gardens. Such an amazing mix of botanical garden and amusement park. We rode some rides and had some treats. And thanks to “Somebody Feed Phil” we had the most amazing burger at Gasoline Grill.

Bergen is truly an amazing city, full of history and seafood! 🍤 We really enjoyed exploring the city and our guided walking tour was very informative. Today we depart Norway for Copenhagen!

Friday we travelled to our final city in Norway…Bergen. What an incredible city! We explored a bit and had some yummy fish from the market, but look forward to seeing even more tomorrow!

Thursday we journeyed on the famous Flåm railway to Hardangerfjord. Lots of beautiful waterfalls and deep ravines along the way. We are having unseasonably warm weather here in Norway, so we joined all the locals in the small village and ended the day with a refreshing dip in the Fjord.

On Wednesday, we departed Oslo for sites north and journeyed to Flåm by motor coach. We stopped to see the famous Stave Church in Borgund and then ended the day with a cruise of the dazzling Naeroyfjord. Norway is absolutely stunning!

Yesterday was a busy day in Oslo! Started at City Hall and got to see the room where the Nobel peace prize is awarded. We then went to Frogner Park to tour Gustav Vigeland’s beautiful sculpture park. Our afternoon was spent at the Folklore Museum where we toured some of the oldest preserved structures from around Norway over the centuries including a Stave church.

Before dinner we headed up to Holmenkollen to see the Okympic park that features an amazing ski jump and cross country skiing center.

Today we bid farewell to Oslo and head through Fjord country to Flam. Stay tuned!

Enjoyed an island hopping tour in Oslo yesterday to visit some monastery ruins, grass island and cabin island. Learned a lot about the history of the islands as well as the cabin culture of their islands. My favorite part of travel is learning the history and culture of the people of the country.
