One of the most talked about local legends around Fortson, Georgia…

👻 “Cry Baby Bridge”

For years, stories have circulated about this eerie bridge hidden in the backroads near Fortson/Columbus. Locals claim late at night you can hear the sound of a crying baby echoing through the darkness… even when no one else is around.

Some versions of the legend say a grieving mother threw her child from the bridge years ago. Others claim the cries belong to spirits still searching for answers. Paranormal investigators and thrill seekers alike have visited the area reporting strange noises, unexplained fog, cold spots, shadows, handprints, and unsettling feelings.

Now we want to hear from YOU.

It wouldn’t be a proper Memorial Day without paying tribute to one of my favorite veterans—my Grandaddy, William Sanford Cogar. He was a man deeply proud of his God, family, community, and country. He never hesitated to stand up, face any battle, and share his stories of victory (even though most he couldn't/wouldn't tell you about or he'd have to...never mind lol). With the voice of an angel (though he might not appreciate that description!), he knew every hymn by heart. He is truly an American hero, and I’m honored to be his granddaughter.
