Can I let you in on a secret? 🤫
I’ve never been a fan of traditional tours. I usually avoid them...

Yep. I said it 😅

My travel personality? 4×4 - built for all terrain 🚙💨
But sometimes logistics are tricky, so joining a tour makes sense 🤷‍♀️

And wow! Some of the tours I’ve joined were... INTENSE 😅

⏰ 4am pick-ups
🏨 Returning to the hotel past 10pm… sometimes midnight
🍽️ Meals falling way behind schedule
📢 Poor planning
📭 Limited communication

These experiences taught me something important:

I don’t like being rushed 🚫
I don’t enjoy that jam-packed “go, go, go” feeling 🚫
I don’t like '10 minutes here, 15 minutes there'… 🚫

I’m a terrible tourist 🤦‍♀️ Always the last one, walking behind the group - not because I’m slow....

Because I’m noticing architectural details, taking photos, soaking it all in, trying to really FEEL the place 📸✨

In the race to “see everything,” we can miss the moments that truly deserve time.

After all… we traveled all this way ✈️

As a Colombian immigrant who has lived in the United States for 25 years, this past year has felt… heavy 😢

Many in our communities are grieving - the loss of safety, the dehumanizing language, racial profiling, and the fear that has crept into everyday life.

When I first arrived in 2001, we lived through very dark, traumatizing days. There was collective grief - but there was also something powerful: UNITY.

A shared sense of solidarity around what it meant to live in this country 🇺🇸

Today, I feel that same heaviness - but this time it feels different... more division.

Many of us are disillusioned, heartbroken, grieving a country we no longer recognize.

If the headlines feel too heavy, if your heart is breaking…
I feel you.
I see you.
This post is for you 💖

We are allowed to grieve.
We are allowed to be afraid.
And we are also allowed to believe in each other 🇺🇸

I came here believing in the promise of this country.
I still believe in its people.
I believe this is a dark chapter - not the whole story.

This is not who we are.
And it does not have to be who we become.

Divided we fall.
