The Bellagio Hotel & Casino is a sight to behold year-round. Having said that, Christmas time at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens takes things…

Frank Sinatra was born , 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey. His relationship with Las Vegas lasted 43 years, from his first shows at the Desert Inn in 1951 to 1994 when he played the MGM Grand for the last time. His relationship with mobsters goes even further back. In the 1930s, Sinatra became friends with Willie Moretti, a Genovese crime family associate. In the early 1940s, when bandleader Tommy Dorsey refused to let Sinatra out of a lifetime contract, Moretti reportedly jammed a gun into Dorsey's mouth, convincing him otherwise. Sinatra also met Lucky Luciano in Cuba in 1946 and was close friends with Chicago Outfit leader Sam Giancana.

It’s Vegas Vic! He is our mascot here in Las Vegas, created in the 1940s by the Chamber of Commerce to be the face of the ”Wild Western Town” that we tried to market ourselves as being.
He is still on Fremont Street tonight in the largest neon version of himself. But, he has many other incarnations around town.
He says ”Howdy Pod-ner” to everyone who visits our wild little town in the dusty desert! 🤠

Union Pacific Railroad used to stop over in this tiny little town in the desert all the way back in 1905. Today, the Union Plaza Stop is now The Plaza Hotel and Casino and is home to Oscar Goodman’s Steakhouse, our former mayor that was a defending attorney for men like Tony “The Ant” Spilotro during the late mob era of the 1970s!

Cheers to the Weekend! What are your weekend plans? ✨
