Looking to enhance your next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Do you love elephants? If yes to either or both of those, I highly recommend the “Caring for Giants” tour. They offer several tours 1 hour tours a day with small groups. You get a peek backstage and get to spend time hanging out closer to the elephants than you can get on the Kilimanjaro Safari. You also get to learn about the herd and the different clans as well.

A really cool piece of Disney history a lot of people miss when they’re here is the Electrical Water Pageant. Started shortly after the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971 and was the spark that led to all the amazing nighttime parades we all love beginning with the Main Street Electrical Parade. The Electrical Wate Pageant makes its way around all of the Bay Lake resorts starting with the Grand Floridian and ending with a performance in front of the Magic Kingdom.

Want to make that water park day just a little more magical, add a Beachcomber Shack to your plans! You get a covered seating area with chairs, towels, and a cooler stocked with beverages along with an attendant to make sure you have everything you need for an awesome day. They will keep your cooler and towels topped off and, for an extra charge, they can bring you bar drinks as well as lunch and deserts.

Let’s dispel a couple myths about using a travel advisor

1. Why should I pay you when I can do it myself? You don’t actually pay me. The travel supplier pays my commission. That commission gets paid to a nameless and faceless someone even when you book direct.

2. It costs more because of your commission. Actually, a lot of the time I can probably save you a few bucks.

3. You’re just going to sell me on what will get you the biggest commission. Sadly, there are travel advisors out there that will do that. I however, am not one of them. Your requests and travel needs are my only priority.

I became an independent travel advisor about 18 months ago. I did this after many years of planning Disney trips for friends and family. I was told many times, “you really should be a Disney travel agent!” What you get by booking your Disney vacation with me is over 25 years of Disney trip planning knowledge acquired through being a Disneyland and Walt Disney World annual pass holder, DVC member and many voyages aboard Disney Cruise Line. I have lots of direct experience knowledge with all of the travel suppliers I choose to specialize in because I’ve traveled with them.

Disney Cruise Line has released a teaser related to the long awaited 2027 itinerary release. Based on the latitudes given, and that they relate to departure ports, here is my speculation on the locations. Number one is New York. Number two is Puerto Rico. Number 3 is Galveston. Number four is San Diego. Number 5 is Port Everglades and number 6 is Port Canaveral.

Here are some highlights on the Monsters Inc expansion coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Your visit to Monstropolis will have lots of new experiences. First up is the Welcome to Monstropolis show at the Glob Theater. Featuring a song written by Randy Newman and led by Mike and Sully, it’s sure to head off the rails pretty quickly.

Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza celebrates the beloved Fear Tech mascot and sits right next to the Monsters University Alumni Club.

Sure to be a favorite is Harryhausen’s. But don’t worry, there is more than just sushi on the menu.

Here are some of the attractions coming to the Tropical Americas expansion coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

First up is the long awaited Encanto attraction. Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto will take you through Casa Madrigal for the celebration of Antonio’s new gift, the ability to talk to animals.

Sitting near Casa Madrigal will be El Carrusel de Los Anamalitos. This attraction features 22 hard carved representations of some of Disney’s most memorable animal characters.

Also coming is Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. You enter through a recently discovered Maya temple and travel down into a cenoté rumored to lead to the Maya underworld guarded by the serpent Tsukán. You will also need to avoid bats, giant scorpions and of course, snakes.

Lastly, and most surprisingly, the Yeti in Expedition Everest is finally being repaired and will once again be taking a swipe at your train as you pass by!

Tons of amazing announcements last night from D23. I’ll be sharing a lot of those this week.

Disney Cruise line announced the bow and stern characters as well as the Grand Hall statue for the newest Wish class ship, Disney’s Believe. She will feature Tinkerbell on the bow and Buzz Lightyear and Woody on the stern. The Grand Hall will feature a bronze statue of Moana complete with Pua and Heihei.

There is a new class of ship coming to the Disney Cruise line! While most cruise lines seem to be heading in a “ bigger is better” direction, Disney announced just the opposite. The new class will be sized between the original Magic class and the newer Dream and Wish class ships. No further details as to names or potential sailing dates available just yet.

There are also going to be a lot more opportunities to sail from San Diego. Both the Magic and Wonder will continue doing the Alaska cruises in the summer. Of all the Disney cruises we’ve done, Alaska is definitely our favorite!

Just announced new character for Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure this year is Yzma from “Emperor’s New Groove!” Also returning are Hades, Judge Doom, Agatha Harkness and Dr. Doofenschmirtz.
