🍽️🇯🇲 Let’s Talk About the FOOD in Jamaica!

One thing my husband and I always try to do when we travel is eat things we can’t get back home. We want to experience the destination through the food — and after living in Hawaii, we have to admit… we secretly miss having really fresh fish readily available. 🐟❤️
So naturally, we were very happy campers in Jamaica!

Between Ocean Eden Bay and Couples Swept Away, we had a lot of opportunities to try different things, and the food was definitely part of the experience.

☕️ Breakfast started things off right — fresh omelets, tropical fruit, plantains, coconut pastries and plenty of coffee. Give me a plate of plantains at breakfast and I'm a happy girl. 😂

🌴 Lunch was exactly what you want on a Caribbean vacation — casual, easy and often right by the beach. Fresh seafood, Jamaican flavors, salads, sandwiches and plenty of options to grab something without having to completely interrupt your pool or beach day.

🍽️ Dinner was where we really had fun trying different things. Both resorts offered a variety of dining options, but honestly…
🇯🇲 The Jamaican food was our favorite.
And the JERK. 🔥

I'm not sure what they are doing differently down there, but Jamaican jerk is on another level. The seasoning, the smokiness, the spice… we kept going back for it.

We also loved having the opportunity to try dishes and flavors that we simply don't get at home. That's one of my favorite parts of traveling — not just seeing a new place, but tasting it.

Overall, we were really happy with the dining at both resorts. There was enough variety that we never felt stuck eating the same thing, and we could choose between casual beachside meals, more traditional Jamaican flavors and nicer dinners.

And honestly, there is something pretty special about eating fresh fish, Jamaican food and tropical fruit while sitting in the Caribbean breeze with your feet practically in the sand. 🌴🐟🍹

Would I travel to Jamaica for the food alone? Probably not.
Would I happily go back for the food? Absolutely. 😂🇯🇲❤️
Because that jerk chicken? I’m still thinking about it.

What I really appreciate about this type of all-inclusive is that you can make the vacation as active or as relaxed as you want.

Want to spend the day on the water? You can.
Want to work out, play pickleball and tennis? You can.

Want to sit on that gorgeous beach with a cocktail and never move? Also completely acceptable. 😂🍹

And when you consider that airport transportation, food, drinks and so many activities are already included, it makes budgeting for your Jamaica vacation much easier.

🌴❤️ Next Stop: Couples Swept Away — Negril, Jamaica 🇯🇲

After our stay at Ocean Eden Bay, we headed over to Couples Swept Away in Negril, and WOW… this beach. 😍

This is easily one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve seen in quite a while. The sand is that soft, powdery kind you can walk through forever, and the water is exactly what you picture when you think of a Caribbean getaway. 🏝️🌊

But what really stood out to us was the vibe.
Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and the resort has a really nice balance of being romantic and relaxed without feeling like a party resort. It feels like a place where couples can actually slow down, enjoy each other, have a drink, sit by the beach, and just… be.

There’s still plenty to do if you want activities and entertainment, but it never felt like you had to be “on.” The atmosphere was more laid-back Caribbean getaway than spring-break party, which was exactly what we were looking for.

💕 If you're looking for a Jamaica resort where the beach is a major part of the experience, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and you want a true couples escape, Couples Swept Away is definitely one to put on your list.

And after being here… I completely understand why people fall in love with Negril. 🇯🇲❤️
