Congratulations to Lewisburg's Father / Daughter team: Stella and Chris Rodebaugh for exhibiting the LARGEST pumpkin at the 2026 West Virginia State Fair. Their pumpkin weighed in at 1,072 pounds!!

Birdhouse Monday feels just right today. 🌺 💚 🌺

Instead of mailbox features, we’re celebrating a sweet little garden on Lipps Road here in Lewisburg, complete with a cheerful birdhouse that looks like it’s welcoming every bird who passes by. It’s a bright spot of creativity and we’re grateful for neighbors who make Lewisburg “Bloom” in their own ways.

Lewisburg in Bloom stopped by the WV State Fairgrounds on Friday (8/7/26) to see what's blooming. We have a beautiful fairgrounds in our midst! Thanks to Dr. John Wilson, you will enjoy many brightly colored Zinnias. Every June, Dr. Wilson plants the official "West Virginia State Fair Zinnia" seeds so that they will be in full bloom in time for the state fair in mid-August. You will also see robust hydrangeas, red roses, and colorful annuals tucked in many places around the property as well as in large wheelbarrows.

While visiting each of the 5 historic church properties downtown, "Lewisburg in Bloom" discovered a cheerful "seed library" mounted on the fence around the children's playground at Shuck Memorial Baptist Church. The library is in need of seed packets ... does anyone have seeds to share?

Downtown Lewisburg has 5 historic church buildings: Mt. Tabor Baptist Church (circa 1833); Historic John Wesley Methodist Church (circa 1820); Old Stone Presbyterian Church (circa 1796); Shuck Memorial Baptist Church (circa 1938); Lewisburg United Methodist Church (original brick building 1820, renovation 1984). Each of these properties showcase unique architecture and plantings. We encourage you to take a personal "walking tour" past each church!

Mailbox Monday highlights a handcrafted Bacova mailbox on Church Street. Linda and Brenda Spencer’s mailbox was made in Bath County, Virginia, where these American classics have been created since 1965. It was originally painted with birds and later refurbished and repainted by Judy Lewis, one of our local artists. A lovely detail that adds character right beside their front door.

Lewisburg in Bloom is celebrating Mailbox Monday with a lovely feature from Barbara Pfeil on Alderson Street. Her Great Dane themed mailbox is full of charm and creativity. Thank you, Barbara, for adding such a fun touch to Lewisburg’s summer season.
