Travel Agents Rock, please read below and be educated:

"I think a lot of people misunderstand what travel agents do. Yes, they quote and book vacations. Yes, they make personalized itineraries and plans for you. Yes, this costs you NOTHING extra over booking it yourself.

What they don't do is get paid if you don't book with them. They are not paid an hourly wage. They are only compensated on trips they book, and only after you return home from traveling. So that Mexico vacation, cruise, all-inclusive resort stay, etc. that you book on your own - they could have booked it for the same price or sometimes cheaper but you would have helped them build their business. AT NO COST TO YOU. Booking with a travel agent is a win-win!

The cost of their services is already included in the cost you pay, whether you use an agent or not. Essentially you are paying for a service you are not receiving.

You want to travel with the peace of mind of a professional agent with industry relationships to be there for support because we have all seen things don’t always go perfect”

I can't stop thinking about it and I'll talk anyone's ears off about it, if they're willing to listen. Lol! Thoughts to share from a fellow travel agent, Keisha:

Her Current status- anxiously prepared.

Travel is essential, yet on occasion may be unpredictable. Let me catch you up to speed.

From DC to Munich- United Airlines checked my carry on to my FINAL destination. UA checked ALL economy carry ons due to a crew delay to make up time for departure.

Flight arrived into Munich 40 minutes late.

Connecting through Munich Airport to Vienna- Passport Control was CLOSED due to a "Police Intervention". Resulting in standing in line for over an hour 👎

Flight from Munich to Vienna is delayed due to tire change.

Now, yes it could be frustrating, however with my tips below I can help keep that frustration to a minimum which may later seem like a small hiccup.

International Tips & tricks 👇

7. Pack an empty Back Pack in your carry-on bag for all must keep essentials and plane needs when the airline takes your carry-on. The back pack is also useful for all the extras you will collect during trip.

6. Always allow at least 3 hours in between international flights to leave room for error. *Today- Between delays, Police issue, and the Passport Control closure, 300 passengers missed their flights and are currently standing in line at the Lufthansa desk.

5. If catching a cruise, ALWAYS arrive a day earlier to avoid missing your ship departure. If this was the day of departure, I would be losing my mind. 🤯

4. Pack an additional 2 sets of clothing and toothbrush in your carry-on just in case your luggage is lost upon arrival.

3. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. You never know when you will be that crazy person 🏃‍♀️ to catch their flight. We've all been there.

2. Purchase Travel Protection.

1. Book with your favorite travel advisor for more advantages and benefits. 😉
